The Reasonable Marines (official Imperial designation: The XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX) codex is here.

Reasonable Marines Special Rules

The Reasonable Marines are an unorthodox but highly effective Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. Many units in the RM forces share similar strengths represented in the following rules:

  • And They Shall Know No Fear
  • Reasonable Force Protocol- Reasonable Marine units cannot fire or use weapons against an armor save worse than its listed AP value (lascannons cannot be fired against anything worse than 2+ armor). In addition, all types of flamers cannot be used against a restricted enemy army.
    • These restrictions are lifted when fighting an army that includes Chaos Daemons, Chaos Space Marines, Dark Eldar, Orks, Necrons and Tyranids. All units may re-roll failed rolls of 1 to hit with shooting against these enemies
  • Stealth Stratagem- All units with this rule have the Stealth special rule if it was stationary the previous Movement phase. In addition, the unit may deploy as if it had the Infiltrate special rule, but it cannot outflank from reserves unless it has the full Infiltrate special rule.
  • Fire Teams- Reasonable Marine units with this rule have the option to take up to 10 models per squad, and may divide into two 5man fire teams. The decision to split the unit into fire teams, as well as which models go into each squad, is made before the unit is deployed. All fire teams can be deployed in separate locations. After dividing and deploying each fire team, each is treated as a separate unit for all games purposes from that point on. Multiple fire teams may embark on the same transport without "merging".

Warlord Traits

Reasonable Marine warlord can roll his warlord trait from Command traits and Stratgic traits (but not Personal traits) charts from core rulebook or from specific Reasonable Marine traits chart below.
