Good old Homo sapiens sapiens. Since most game designers are human, and most gamers are human, most games involve humans in some way -- indeed, they are often the most common of the available player races. This is sometimes called the "Humans Are Average" approach: humans receive no special stat bonuses of any kind, presumably because they are so much more numerous than the other player races that they serve as a baseline. A variant on this approach may have humanity's "bonus" be the fact that they have no restrictions on what classes, feats, alignments, or other "splats" they may pursue. Another variant is that, instead of receiving a bonus to specific statistics, a player rolling up a human may apply a bonus to his choice of stat during character creation.
