Ritual of Shadows

Kalashtar are a race of refugees that retreated from the plane of Dal Quor, the Region of Dreams and now reside in temple-fortresses in Mountians of Adar, Sarlona, Eberron setting. Originally, they were incorporeal beings that posessed willing people to flee from their oppressors, Quori, into Material Plane. Now, new Kalashtar can breed true, without having to posess a new body.

Kalashtar have keen minds, but are not ruled by logic. They seek the perfection of their minds and spirits, often to the exclusion of any physical pursuits. They are generally warm and compassionate, but their manners and ways of thinking are alien to the native races of Eberron, and they often use flowery scientific words which doesn't make them easier to understand. Despite being so strange, they still manage a sense of good self-discipline and concern for people who surround them, even at the earlier age than most humans. Psychic disciplines is where the interests of kalashtar usually lay, as it also keeps them relatively sane. Existing as a half-ghost that can't dream (due to the ghost part) isn't easy. Instead of dreams they sometimes get old memories of the spirit they track their lineage from.

The main hobby of kalashtar is fighting The Inspired, Quori-posessed people that established the tyranny in Riedra. Leisure holds no place in their lives as they tenaciously and patiently work towards the goal of defeating their enemies.

Kalashtar worship The Great Light il-Yannah, which, as they say, gives them power to fight The Dreaming Dark that's threating all of the Eberron. Some Kalashtar try to battle The Dreaming Dark with force of arms and mind. Some think that Dark can't be beaten by shooting at it 'till it dies and try to bring beauty and light into the world to weaken it instead.

Kalashtar appear very similar to humans, but they have a grace and elegance that makes them seem almost too beautiful. They are slightly taller than the average human, and their faces have a slight angularity that sets them apart from the human norm, but these deviations only make them seem more attractive.
