Necropolis Knight
This page is needs images. Help plz. |

Necropolis Knights are ancient Nehekharans warriors riding animated statues of their snake god. In life, the rider was a member of the Nehekharan warrior elite who, rather than pick out the pansy way of quick ritual suicide, opted instead for a painful death by slit-writsts and Necroserpent poison. In the afterlife, those who are judged worthy get to come back and ride snake-mounts, serving their king for all eternity (or until the End Times/they get chopped up and burnt by Bretonnians). The rider's soul is shared with the Necroserpent, giving them perfect sync, but also meaning that they can't be killed unless both are destroyed, making Necroserpents probably the best phylactery ever.
Overshadowed a bit by Sepulchral Stalkers, which have a similar niche on the tabletop and in Total War, and are also a lot cooler.

I assure you, he's very good with Strangers. Unless they're Bretonnian.
