The New Order is a Space Marine chapter settled out in the Koronus Expanse. The secretive and quiet chapter is actually comprised of 3 smaller chapters which all held similar views: the Wolves of the Emperor, a bullheaded, aggressive chapter derived from non-traitor Luna Wolves who believe the Imperium is not following the Emperor's plan; the Dragonkin, a 22nd Founding chapter with the unnatural gift of fire-breathing and hardened scales of bone; lastly, the Dune Serpents, another 22nd Founding chapter with the innate ability of teleportation. These reject chapters use each others abilities to reunite the Imperium under the original intent of the Emperor.

Murky Pasts

From the dawn of their creation, the New Order has kept their secrets well kept, from their origin to their true intentions. Inquisitors have delved deep into the Vaults on Terra to find any trace of the chapter but none have come up with substantial information. The chapter founder, Michae Ishmaeus, ensured no one would ever discover how they came to be by hiding a single vault in the Koronus Expanse and the New Order has hunted for the vaunted vault since its existance was newly discovered.

Deadly Bargains

Patriarch (Chapter Master) of the New Order Taihkromn Ryus and his chapter hold a zealous hatred for the forces of Chaos. Upon one humiliating crusade against the dark forces of Chaos, Ryus heard from the dark god Malal. His nature was quick to expel the thoughts and voices, but Malal knew as such and played his cards quick, "What if I told you, mighty Astartes, how to destroy Chaos?" Ryus became entrigued immediately and heard out Malal's promise, "Fight with my power, and lay waste to my enemies." He ecstatically agreed and his Marines quickly redeemed the Chapter's honour, claiming the Emperor favored him at last, but all of this at a cost: When fighting the Ruinous Powers, the Patriarch would become enraged and filled with the might of a daemon, whom was quick and ready to smite every single daemon who stood in his way. He would cast off his self preservation and threw himself into overwhelming odds to come out victorious, but grieviously wounded. One particular time, he charged a Blood Thirster alone and had his left arm and part of his chest cleaved off by the greater daemon before caving in its thick skull with his other arm.

A Brother Betrayed

At the time, the New Order's bulk was made of the Wolves of the Emperor; however, a Dragonkin had risen through the ranks and became the captain of the 1st company. This marine's name was Sylus. He was a valiant soldier without peer and a blademaster that could rival the best Khornate warriors. He soon became a close friend in the chapter to Ryus and had it utmost respect and trust. That is, until Tzeench, disguised as the Emperor told Sylus in the dream the his Patriarch was in a pact with a Chaos God. The zealous 1st Captain lead his company to assassinate the foul Ryus. But before they could confront the Patriarch, the Architect of Fate lead the 1st Company's Strike cruiser right into a daemon world of Nurgle. All but the Captain were killed and Sylus was brought to his knees before a Great Unclean One. It was there that he knew there was no Emperor, no Greater being, just the Lords of Chaos. He denouced the Corpse God and embraced Nurgle, having all of his former battle brothers brought back to life for a new purpose: to bring death to the New Order.

Organisation

  • "Den of Wolves", 1st Company, Patriarch's Honour Guard.
  • "Brothers of the Hunt", 2nd Company, some times known as Brothers of Suicide by the 3rd Company because of their "No guts, no glory" behaviours
  • "Dire Wolve's Howl", 3rd Company, known to have the loudest battle cry in the Chapter and known to have the most Dreadnaughts in the Chapter
  • "Dragon's Maw", 4th Company, entirely made of Dragonkin Marines, this chapter employs enough flamers to rival that of the Salamanders.
  • "Trial Survivors", 10th company, rigourous trial quickly and effectively train neophytes into marines in very short time.

Each Company is designed to be able to wage a crusade without requiring back up from from other Companies. Each has 3 Captains and are suited for any encounter. The First and Tenth Company is the only exception to these. The First Company is made of the best blademasters of the chapter, as tradition goes. This chapter is split between each of the other, bar the Tenth, to provide elite HQ Protection and Priority target hunters.

Codex Divergents

The New Order has read the book of Roboutte Guilliman and finds it distasteful and rigid. The New order utilizes every assest in their possession to its fullest potential. Most would label them heretics and blasphemers for their methods. They "preach" that the Emperor never wanted to be a god but wanted to promote science. Very few find these words enlightening or helpful, but those few are not so few and far between. The New Order has taken in a few Imperial Guard regiments and one Adeptus Sororitas convent. The former is used as an auxiliary force, and the latter is used as serfs. Both hold high honour with the marines that they serve.
