Purple Worm
Purple Worms are one of the most-lasting, yet simple, monsters to be found in the history of Dungeons & Dragons. Really, their name says it all; they're giant worms that prey on smaller animals, which is virtually everything, and spend most of their time chewing their way through the Underdark.
