Rad

Short for radiation. Usually some form of deadly or harmful radiation. There is no known instance of Rad being used to signify save radiation such as visible light. The pleasure inducing recreational usage of code and mind scrambling radiation by the Adeptus Mechanicus resulted in the use of the word rad in the context of slang for cool.
