Skald

A skald is a viking bard. In /tg/ community, skald is usually understood as a Bard-barian / bard that can be badass in melee and still be useful as a "support" instead of standing behind the frontlines like a sissy. For example, there's 3.PF class called Skald that inspires rage in his buddies and isn't as squishy as a regular bard. D&D 5e has a Valor bard subclass which is along these lines as well.
