An incompetent mercenary company created by the Lyran Alliance as deniable assets during the Succession Wars. The Sunbats were staffed by common infantrymen instead of veteran mechwarriors and strategists due to an administrative error. The General behind the scheme, realising the blunder and fearing a military disaster that could cost his political and military career, has lavished resources and equipment upon the hapless new mechwarriors to compensate for their incompetence.
