Zrinyi Assault Gun
The Zrinyi Assault Gun was a casemate tank destroyer developed off the Turan chassis and a unit available in Flames of War. It is named after a Hungarian hero who fought off the Ottoman Turks in the 1500s.
IRL
The Zrinyi Assault gun arose out of a need for anything that could hurt the T-34 and other variants of tanks the Soviets were deploying in the latter stages of the war. The Hungarians thus followed in the example of the Stug series, hoping to create a 75mm cannon variant and a 105mm howitzer variant, both using a modified Turan 40M chassis.
The AT variant never saw mass production, but the assault gun did. Called the 43M or Zrinyi II, the Zrinyi was sent to the front and saw service in the defence of Hungary. Several were captured by the Romanians and Soviet Militaries, and one of the only surviving examples today is in Russia in the Kubinka tank museum.
Other than that, no real records that we are aware of tell us about the performance of the vehicle. Therefore we encourage you to take them in Flames of War to make your own history!
