This article is about the Halo weapon.

The Covenant Carbine is one of the standard issue weapons for Sangheilies and a specialized weapon for Kig-Yars. The Covenant Carbine is a radioactive weapon that also includes its sister weapons such as the Fuel Rod Cannons and Assault Cannons. The damage seen by a Covernant Carbine is horrific and painful, and vast radiation burns and leakage could kill a normal human in mere seconds, usually the effects of such weapons is similar to that of the victims of Nukes; only Astartes could withstand such intense radiation.

Variants[edit | edit source]

The Covenant Carbine is part of the radioactive weaponry of the Covenant arsenal, radioactive weapons are used not only to heavily damage vehicles and life-forms, but can be also used to heavily contaminate the air and ecosystem.

Covenant Carbine[edit | edit source]

The standard issue and most popular weapon in the Sangheili armory; light, rigid, simply designed, dangerous, accurate, powerful, quiet, easy to maintain and easy to produce, it is understandable why millions of Sangheili often pick this weapon over their Plasma Rifle counterparts. The mechanisms that make up the Covenant Carbine are quite simple: a trigger, accelerator barrels, holographic scope, polymer covering, radiation discharge and a nuclear battery are the only components of a Covenant Carbine. When fired the highly agitated radioactive particles from the nuclear batteries are released, these particles are then accelerated at hyper-sonic speed by the accelerator barrels. Right before discharging the rounds, the radioactive discharge near the end of the barrel quickly sanitizes and cleans the radiation, reducing radiation burns and contamination of the user. When the accelerated particles hit a material, the intense kinetic and thermal energy produced by its hyper-sonic speed causes those radioactive particles to undergo fusion: the sudden implosion of the round yields power equivalent to that of a miniature Nuclear Bomb. This implosion causes even ceramite armor to crack and deform, and sometimes even shatter due to the extreme stress involve with the massive kinetic and thermal energy produced.

Fuel Rod Cannon[edit | edit source]

Also called the Fuel Rod Gun, this is usually the answer of a Covenant Rocket Launcher or Anti-Tank weaponry. Unlike the Carbine, the Fuel Rod Cannon uses entire cells of nuclear rods, called Fuel Rods, that once launched and impacted on a target, produces thermal and kinetic energy equivalent to a high grade Nuclear Bomb. Damages include complete vaporization of any unit, even Terminator units, and turning almost any vehicle short of a Titan into molten slag.

Assault Cannon[edit | edit source]

When you just want to give those pesky Terminators a new feeling of pain and hell...

The Big Brother of the Fuel Rod Cannon, and only mounted on M'galekgolo. These heavily specialized weapons uses several Nuclear Rods as a power-plant instead of ammunition. What makes them unique is their two-fire mode, called the single-shot variant and the beam variant. For the single-shot variant, unlike the Fuel Rod Cannon, the Assault Cannon uses "Globs" of the radioactive energy instead of the Fuel Rods themselves, coupled with its advanced internal cooling systems to allow the Assault Cannon to fire an indefinite amount of shots without over-heating. The next is the beam variant: this time the Assault Cannon turns the "Globs" of Nuclear Plasma into a beam like projectile, dubbed as "Radioactive Incendiary Gel", these turn the Assault Cannon into a fusion of a Flamer and a Meltagun, immolating everything in Nuclear Fire.

Heavy Fuel Rod Cannon[edit | edit source]

The biggest in the Covenant's radioactive weaponry. This is literally an up-scaled model of a standard Fuel Rod Cannon. Only mounted on vehicles and turrets, a single shot is enough to liquify even a Baneblade or Tau Riptide, and heavily damage a Titan that is below Warlord-Class.
