The Arms of the Betrayers are a group of eight magical weapons created by the Betrayer Gods of Exandria.

History[edit | edit source]

Before the Calamity occured, the eight Betrayer Gods created a sentient weapon from the essence of a greater fiend loyal to them, and granted them to their champions in the kingdom of Ghor Dranas. After the Calamity, the weapons were scattered across Wildemount, with some having been discovered and others being still hidden.

The Arms[edit | edit source]

The weapons themselves are sentient and desire to be used for battle and spill blood in the hands of worthy warriors. As their owner becomes more powerful, so too do the weapons. The eight weapons are:

  • Blade of Broken Mirrors: A stone dagger made by Tharizdun, containing the essence of the insane glabrezu Ragazuu. Ragazuu whispers ideas of revolution and seeks to corrupt the wielders ideals to encourage reckless action. Yet to be found.
  • Grovelthrash: An Obsidian Warhammer made by Torog, containing the essence of the covetous ultroloth Ciria. Ciria enjoys material luxuries and wealth, complimenting its wielder when they acquire treasures, as well as when they deal out pain and suffering.
  • Lash of Shadows: A snakeskin whip ending in five animated serpent heads made by Zehir, containing the essence of the mad marilith Sizlifeth. Sizlifeth has a short temper and bounces between extreme emotions of all kinds, being happy only when hurting other beings.
  • Mace of the Black Crown: A ruby-headed mace made by Asmodeus, containing the essence of the greedy erinyes Xartaza. Xartraza seeks to gain more souls for her master and manipulates the dreams of its wielder to accomplish this. She also hates demons and enjoys crafting battle plans.
  • Ruin's Wake: An ivory spear made by Gruumsh, containing the essence of the bloodthirsty balor Yarrowish. Yarrowish simply pushes its wielder to solve all problems with violence, and incite bloodshed and slaughter.
  • Silken Spite: A spider silk rapier made by Lolth, containing the essence of the murderous yochlol Sinnafex. Sinnafex seeks to create distrust, by whispering to its owner to never trust anyone and to kill anyone for even the slightest insult.
  • The Bloody End: An adamantine morningstar made by Bane, containing the essence of the tyrannical pit fiend Izeelzee. Izeelzee seeks have its wielder never refuse a challenge and subjugate others. Should they refuse to subjugate, he will do it for them. Yet to be found.
  • Will of the Talon: A war pick made by Tiamat, containing the essence of the short-tempered bone devil Ashtyrlon. Ashtyrlon seeks to make its wielder a strong leader, pushing them to take decisive action to keep order and take their "fair share" of treasure in return for their leadership.

Worshippers[edit | edit source]

Most worshippers of the arms don't worship the weapons, but the fiends and devils that reside within the weapons, or make pacts with them.
