M-COM
M-COM is a International military organisation funded by the U.N. to help maintain the Statute of Secrecy as well as protect Muggles from the Wizarding world.
M-COM can trace its history back to the days when Muggles first discovered Wizards.
M-COM is also the result of a Hunter: The Vigil/ Harry Potter crossover discussion on /tg/
History[edit | edit source]
M-COM was first formed at the end of the English Civil War when Cromwell noted that many of the Royalist officers were using powers that he considered "Un-Christian". When he founded his New Model Army he created a Regiment for the sole purpose of rooting out witches wherever they hid. M-COM cells began to spread throughout the world.
After centuries in hiding the Wizards presented Parliament with a treaty, the wizards would remain in hiding in their own communities in return they would supplement the defenses of the British Isles. It was at this time that M-COM dogma changed from a hunters role to a defenders role. They were now tasked to protect the Muggle world from dangerous wizards.
After the end of World War 2 and the creation of the United Nations the British government passed control of M-COM over to the Secretary General.
The British branch of M-COM still remains the most active, in recent times they have been especially busy dealing with an individual named Voldemort.
Post war[edit | edit source]
Recruitment, selection and training[edit | edit source]
M-COM agents are selected from a nations military forces that have had experience with the Wizarding world. M-COM agents are also recruited from the Squib community of the Wizarding world, particularly Squib relatives, and members of Hufflepuff House of Hogwarts.
Upon selection agents are given a Pensieve and are required to regularly update it in case of Oblivation.
