Located on the edge of Imperial Space, the Sylpheart Sound is an isolated reach, devastated six centuries ago by the forces of Waaagh Githunda. Civilization is only beginning to get back on its feet on a few isolated planets among the dead.

Worlds in the Sylpheart Sound[edit | edit source]

Scheherezade System[edit | edit source]

The gateway to the Sylpheart Sound, the Scheherezade system is owned outright by the Cal Doren Rogue Trader dynasty. A single young, yellow star surrounded by a sparse scattering of planets. The only habitable one(if that) is the planet Dunyazad, dominated by cracked, ancient deserts and shallow, salty seas. In orbit lies Windlass Station, the primary point of contact between the Sylpheart Sound and the rest of the blessed Imperium. Windlass Station is built from a hollowed asteroid, with a fairly capable spacedock, and serves mainly as a holding area and transshipment point for cargoes waiting for the ship that will take them across the Imperium.

Waxent and Sovidas[edit | edit source]

Twin star systems, each within a few light years of Scheherezade, Waxent and Sovidas are newly founded Forge Worlds, part of the Cal Doren's agreement to produce viable colonies in exchange for a set of Explorator ships. Owing to their lack of reputation, Waxent and Sovidas have become something of a haven for the Cult Mechanicus' more radical members. Waxent has extensive starship support facilities, and its rulers clearly have ambitions of building a fully capable spacedock. Sovidas primarily produces STC designs for the Sylpheart Sound and the Imperium beyond.

Orthax[edit | edit source]

The beacon of resurgent civilization in the Sylpheart Sound, Orthax is an ocean world. Civilization exists on the polar ice caps and on enormous buoyant structures known as Megafloats. Orthax is ruled by a hereditary aristocracy, each aristocrat swearing fealty to the Emperor of The Poles, who rules as the world's Planetary Governor. Also of note is the space elevator which supports Orthax's interplanetary space industry. Lacking any permanent Navy presence, Orthax has a respectable planetary navy.

Lhorrel[edit | edit source]

A feudal world with roughly the manufacturing ability of Old Terra's Age of Sail, Lhorrel maintains contact with the rest of the Sylpheart Sound and is quickly trying to acquire higher technology, trading on the incredible reputation and quality of their Lho-Sticks and Lhogars.
