Heresy of the High Lords (A Conspiracy of the Golden Throne.)

Let’s look at some basic facts to consider before we go into anything too in depth. The Emperor is a perpetual, he will always come back to life. Horus defeated the Emperor in combat, not using a fulgurite weapon. The Emperor regardless is said to be slowly dying only sustained and kept alive, by the golden Throne, while being fed 1000 Psyker souls a day to keep him alive. Now, doesn’t some of this sound contradictory? I like to think so too.

So the Emperor is mortally wounded by Horus, this shouldn’t be a real problem as the Emperor is effectively immortal and should just regenerate in some way shape or form. Instead he is placed upon the golden throne to power the astronomicon, so that people of the Imperium can continue to navigate the warp. What I propose is quite different. The Emperor is not dying, instead he is locked into the Golden throne, the Golden throne being a prison to keep his powers from healing himself, or being free to rule the Imperium. This act was perpetrated by none other than the High Lords of Terra themselves, at that time being the Council of Terra who wished to rule the Imperium themselves. Yes the Golden Throne was originally what the Emperor had planned it to be, but while he was away on the Vengeful Spirit fighting Horus, the much weaker Malcador sat upon it, the High Lords in junction with Chaos who were whispering plans in their ears sabotaged the Golden throne to absorb the energy of those who sat upon it rather than utilize it. Malcador was thus killed by sitting upon the Golden Throne, and the Emperor being a perpetual when placed upon it was imprisoned to the Golden throne.

This seems far fetched, but let us look at other things. The Imperium turned into an Stagnant Empire that follows religion blindly, with no powerful beings to speak out against it, these powerful beings I am referring to being the Primarchs. All the Primarchs are either dead, or seriously injured, or have just completely disappeared with no real records of how or why. The reason behind this is because the Primarchs could easily have dispatched the insane ideology that the Imperium soon grew into. Further the Astartes Legions were broken down, with the writing of the Codex Astartes, Roboute was influenced by the High Lords of Terra to break down the Legions so that they would be less powerful, and unable to take control of the Imperium from them. He was then silenced and placed away in stasis much like the Emperor was, rid of him, and anyone else who could conceivably blow their cover they then began to rule with absolute power. This was all part of a bigger picture, as a stagnant religious Imperium, is an easier Feast for the Dark Gods of Chaos than an advancing non-religious one. The Chaos Gods Whispering into the High Lords ears telling them what should be let swallowed whole, and what should be stopped.

Further if the Dark Gods truly wanted the Black Crusade to succeed and Abaddon to reach Terra, he would have, they would have made sure it had happened, but they don’t instead they want it to seem like they are trying, but they let him fail every time. This is because the Emperor dying will bring him back to life, and the Imperium will once more be under his control, he would fix all the wrong doings, unbelief would take hold! The Chaos Gods would lose their power. This is why Cypher attempts to slay the Emperor, he knows the truth, it’s also why he has been branded a heretic, so that the High Lords will stay in power. This is why the Tyranids are coming to Terra, not because they are following the Astronomicon like a bug to light, but because the Emperor calls to them with what little power he has! He wants them to devour him so that he can be reborn. And the 1000 psykers a day? They’re not keeping the Emperor alive! They are powering the Golden Throne so that the Emperor can’t break free.

So let’s look back. The High Lords are in bed with Chaos, for their own power, they trade off bites of the Imperium to the Gods of Chaos to keep this power, the Emperor is trapped on the Golden Throne after it was Sabotaged by the High Lords, only a few know the truth and have been branded as heretics, and the ones who could stop him have been neutralized by various means! Is this too far-fetched? You decide.
