Math Mathonwy is the Celtic god of magic.
Personality
Unlike some gods of magic, Math Mathonwy doesn't seek to spread the use of magic, keeping it to his own use, but is willing to partake with it in exchange for new magical knowledge. Those who violate his trust find themselves the subject of his wrath. Strangely, he also insists that his feet are to rest on a maidens lap when possible, and anyone mistreating his footstools will also become a target.
Appearance
The Miser of Sorcery appears as an elderly man wearing a heavy tunic and robes, a magic staff in one hand, and a torc around his neck.
Worshippers
Clerics and druids of Math Mathonwy are knowledgeable about magic, often partaking in rituals stir up magic involved in other ceremonies. His priests are expected to spend one month every year in prayer and solitude.

In Ravenloft, Math Mathonwy is known as the god of sorcery among both the Forfarians and the Tepestani.
In Forlorn, Math Mathonwy is only worshipped by the ApMortens, a clan of wizards living in the town of Forfarmax. In Tepest, Math Mathonwy is ignored by the entire population, with the only time he's acknowledged being during certain funeral rites for outlanders, meaning any person born outside Tepest, where they ask him to show mercy and not raise the deceased from his/her grave.
