Gender/Physical Description: A young pre-teenage boy with brown hair and hazel eyes. /news/-tan is styled in the fashion of a "newsie," those street-corner newspaper-barking urchins from a time way before oldschool was even a thing. He wears a brown newsboy cap, and brown overalls (with /news/ on the front) over a white button-up collared shirt, gray calf-high knitted socks and laceless, brown slip-on loafers. Often has a newspaper delivery satchel hanging from his shoulder when he's on the job, which contains several newspapers among other supplies.
Personality/Habits/Hobbies/Behavior etc.: Despite being a young kid, /news/-tan has already developed quite the cigarette smoking habit, which he indulges to relieve stress. Whenever he is annoyed by his job or by other people, he is quick to light a cigarette. /news/-tan has a pet spider, which he sometimes brings with him on the job (due to an Anon who created a news aggregator called SPIDR).
Relationships: Still a somewhat new arrival, with /news/ being created on November 28th, 2015, and with the limitations of /news/ being a text-only board, /news/-tan hasn't had too many opportunities to form new relationships. /pol/ took an early shine to /news/-tan, but /news/ has resisted becoming a reflection of /pol/'s desire for the second-coming of /new/. Sometimes associates with /v/, though he is dismayed at /v/'s choice of "news" being typical Internet clickbait trash.
Job: /news/-tan's job is to aggregate and deliver the news, no matter what. He also does a little reporting and coverage of 4chan on the side, since news isn't news unless somebody prints the story.
