The Lakshu are a race of Amazon clone-warriors native to the Dungeons & Dragonss setting of Spelljammer. Originally an independent culture of warrior-women dedicated to plunder and conquest, the Lakshu made the fateful mistake of trying to conquer the Reigar, who were so amused that they decided to keep the Lakshu as their pets. The entire race was transformed into an identical array of female warriors, and they have served the Reigar as their personal attendants and bodyguards ever since.
Appearance-wise, lakshu resemble tall, beautiful, well-muscled, green-haired human women. Each lakshu is the spitting image of every other lakshu, and so the race relies heavily on tattoos, body paint and ornate raiments to distingish themselves as individuals, a vanity that their Reigar masters permit them. Their internal social structure is an incredibly strict military-themed hierarchy; lakshu always have a strict pecking order, so somebody has to be higher in command, even if they are all ultimately inferior to their Reigar commanders. Such is the trust with which the lakshu are held that they are permitted to use shaktis, the Reigar's unique improvement on the Figurine of Wondrous Power, and most lakshu identify themselves with their shakti.
Lakshu reproduce through parthenogenesis, spontaneously falling pregnant with a clone-daughter at specific points in their life. Children are raised in communal creches.
