Imperium Secundus 2.0: Electric Boogaloo The Lion's Protectorate is a new pseudo-government formed during the events of the Arks of Omen, and it is effectively Lion El'Jonson's own private bungalow fiefdom. Whilst not on the same leagues as Robby Gillman's Ultramar, it is a dominion ruled and guarded by the most lethal one-man army in the Imperium. So it is definitely a place not to be fucked with despite its small size.
Overview[edit]
The Lion's Protectorate is the name of a group of Imperium Nihilus worlds and Systems, that are under the protection of the Dark Angels' You-Know-Who and the Imperial forces that serve him including The Risen and Lion Guard.
It was formed after the Primarch realized the extent of the destruction the Great Rift's creation had upon the Imperium, which left him with a desire to protect as many of its citizens as he could. Though he has stated that only those who wish to join should do so, as word spread of the Lion's return, more Imperium Nihilus Systems sought the aid his Protectorate offered. It has now significantly increased in size, however, and as a result, the Lion's forces have become stretched thin.
The Lion is currently (Understandably) worried on the Imperium's reaction to him essentially carving up his own little fiefdom, since it may give factions like the Inquisition, hints on his naughty past. However, given that the Imperium is now de-facto ruled by the Big Blue and the fact that he has a pretty good excuse of being stuck on the opposite end of Imperium Sanctus, the Lion should be pretty safe living in his bungalow. Also given that Ultramar exists and was officially condoned by the Emperor, this is hardly without precedent.
Known Worlds[edit]
- Avalus - Central world. A desert planet where the Lion emerged from after he hiked a mountain on Camarth and accidentally Forestwalked. Avalus was a world that has managed to (with difficulty) hold back the Thousand Eyes without the aid of Astartes or proper Imperial support. It was here that Lion was announced into the wider astropathic choir regarding his return, as well as where he received his combi-plasma relic pistol, Arma Luminis, to serve as the symbol of his station.
- Camarth - The first world that the Lion emerged from once he woke up. He immediately then stomped some mutated beasts, met Zabriel (who immediately tried to kill him) and the two solo'd the planet and liberated it from the Thousand Eyes warband. Camarth was once an outpost world owned and operated by a Blood Angels' successor chapter, where the Thousand Eyes conquered it and sought to experiment on the Black Rage induced in the surviving Astartes they captured. After putting them out of their misery, Lion and Zabriel led a force to capture the city's capital, and Camarth was officially liberated. Hilariously, when another Fallen named Baelor, second in command of the Thousand Eyes, came back to figure out what happened, he promptly got called a shithead and told to leave. Camarth is also where the original Lion’s Guard was raised in the Primarch’s name. Unfortunately they would be the sole survivors of the planet once the Thousand Eyes returned to raze it to the ground to draw him out.
- Sable - Not much is known about this world, other than that the population of it was butchered to create an orbital bone platform for the Thousand Eyes' nefarious deeds, before it was promptly blown up by the Lion's fleet while he duked it out with the warband.
