General Information[edit]

A lot of this shit's unfinished at this point, and cluttered

The Iron Empire of Eisenreich's industries red glare never dulls, not even for the night. An empire of warrior-priests, merchants, and regular people, as well as what we would call mythical monsters living amongst the people. The lands of the empire run rich with the purest of iron, and the most fabled of metals, such as mithril, adamantite, and orichalcum. A rare forest exists in the areas surrounding the Kaiser's Winter Palace, in which a rare breed of tree lives of which much of Eisenreich's technology is reliant on. With a megalithic population, it is difficult to keep track of all the various populations there are, and to keep track of the evolving languages of the empire, thus a standard language was decided upon, based upon the most spoken language in Eisenium, and renamed Handelsprache. The categorizing and creating maps of the realm of Eisenreich is a feat that some would consider impossible, but many have attempted it, and many have failed. The realm's most predominant feature are the 5 Major continents of the world, with smaller continents dotting the coasts of the larger ones, or even being self sufficient out in the vast sea of Eisenreich. The military of Eisenreich is what the crown considers it's pride and joy, from the vast floating flotilla of Super Dreadnoughts, to the brave hearted men of the standard infantry, they represent the unity of the Iron Empire.

Life in Eisenreich depends on where one would be living, if one were to live in the cold steppes of Biseria, one would be immersed in a hardened culture of a vastly pious people, or in Wessland, home to the Monsterfolk, life would be most comparable to that of the suburban United States. The societal ladder of Eisenreich typically remains static, but in trying times, a society shake up isn't unheard of. A common story that is told, relating to the societal fluidity during troubling times, is one of a factory owner becoming a duke due to his contributions to a local King. The populations of the major continents vary, but it is estimated that 60-65% of the population live on them, with the smaller continents containing 39.5%, and .5% living on the Luftschiffstadten, mechanized cities who have taken to the skies in scorn of those on the ground, but they still bend the knee when it comes to the Kaiser. One in the lower echelons of society need not worry about the oppression of nobility, not only because there is 1 nobleman per 250 million people in Eisenreich, but because of the rights that each citizen has. If a nobleman is found to be violating those rights, he is stripped of his privileges, and the next in line to inherit his titles are given his titles. Those of higher position have their dress emulate the fashions of the military, as duty in the military is a very prestigious thing to do. Amongst the regular populace, it is seen as bad luck to be wearing military apparel and not be part of the military, it distracts the god of war from those who need it, and incurs his wrath for preventing him from assisting those who need it. The common dress among the common people depends region to region, and typically suits what the climate is like, but it isn't uncommon for them to be attempting to emulate the fashions of the Capital city.

There is a drive amongst the businessmen and entrepreneurs of the lower echelons to try to get as much money as possible in an attempt to gain a position in the more noble area of society. The multitudes mining conglomerates that litter the business forms of the Natural Resources Management are but a fraction of those who are attempting to gain their riches and fame through the flesh of the world. From the common metals of our world, to full on mythological metals of legends past, miners dig for them all. The most highly sought out material is Mananite, the very resource that powers the complex magical monstrosities that ensure that Eisenreich's industries glow with work. Mananite, or also known as Crystallized Mana, is said to be the leftover bits of magic that the Architect had left over from creating the world, and decided to just crystalize it and threw away before going into a long slumber. The largest of Eisenreich's industrial conglomerates, Stahlburg Heavy Industries and Cybernetics, is responsible for most of the construction in the capital region of Eisenreich, and tries to maintain a policy of using clean fuels, but sometimes has to make due with what it can afford. Stahlburg Heavy Industries provides most of the armaments for the Imperial Army, with it's main specialty being the Krieggeher Combat Systems.

The magical trees that surround the Kaiser's palace are part of the Zauberwald forest, a forest filled with creatures mutated beyond belief due to the magical nature of the forest. The forest is heavily guarded, both to prevent the things from within from getting out, and to prevent people from going in. From the mystical forest comes the very ingredient that ensures life continues to go on without much problems, Zauber wood. The mighty 30 meter tall trees are felled, and saplings planted to ensure a steady population of Zauber Trees are maintained. The trees inherent properties allows them to direct the currents of magic down the grooves made in them, allow magical circuits to be made with the wood. The magical circuitry follows the same rules as High Eisenium Runes, as that is the basis that they follow, but the zauber wood allows one to create an extremely efficient magical circuit, allowing even the most mundane of craftsmen to be set to work with it. The core of a machine using zauber wood is typically a chunk of Mananite. The process of inserting a core into a machine is called whispering life into it, due to the delicate process it is to fit the Mananite into the recess it needs to be placed into.

The vast realm of Eisenreich contains 5 massive continents that make up it's breadth, along side the multitudes of smaller continents. The first of the major continents is Eisenium, the center of the massive Empire, with the capital of Eisenstadt, separated into two sectors, Hocheisenstadt is the center for most of the governing of the Empire, with a massive temple, whose purpose is to keep track of those who are entering and leaving the realm. Neidereisenstadt is practically in the Kaiser's possesion, with how many offices are owned by Stahlburg Heavy Industries, and how many factories are being built by the subsidiary companies owned by the Conglomerate. The military of Eisenreich spans a total of 3% of it's population. The military structure has the Kaiser at the top, dictating the broad strokes of military campaigns, and leaving the finer details for those who know best. The military is divided into 4 branches, Land Forces, Sea Flotilla, Air Flotilla, and Krieggehers. Landforces are broken up in to three main theatres of 500 million each, and are further divided into army groups, then armies, ect. The Sea Flotilla's mission is a relatively simple one, ensure that sealanes are maintained and prevent any pirates from emerging. The Sea Flotilla is the smallest of all the military branches, with the advent of heavier-than-air flight, the Eisenreichian airways are cluttered with massive Airships ferrying both men and merchandise. The Air Flotilla, home to massive fleets of Battleships. The Flagship of the flotilla is the Imperial Will, an Air Carrier spanning 1300 meters in length, and 230 meters in width at the widest. The Flotilla relies on a combined arms doctrine, with the idea that Carrier Airships launch their fighters to attack, and Battleships defend the Carriers with their armaments. There are currently 500 Dreadnoughts in the Air Flotilla with many more in construction, as well as 3 experimental Super Dreadnoughts currently fielded, and undergoing testing. The most famous of the Dreadnoughts is the Shirogane, a Wesslandian Dreadnought. The Shirogane has 3 Anti-Dreadnought guns throughout it’s length, which in total is 1700 meters. The Krieggehers, the elite of the Imperial Military. While each branch deals with numbers of the hundreds of millions, Krieggehers only number 63 million. The job of the Krieggehers are to pilot the modern weapon Stahlreisen, behemoths of steel, zauberwald wood, and mananite. A member of the Krieggehers are considered nobility, and are afforded the same privileges as such, but the title is an uninheritable title.

Governing Systems[edit]

A lot of this shit's unfinished at this point, and cluttered

To describe Eisenreich as “Feudal” would be wrong, as would be calling it an Absolute Monarchy, or a Constitutional Monarchy. A Military Junta wouldn’t be too wrong to describe the Empire, with the way that it handles things, and how centered the public is focused on the happenings of the military. There is one true thing about the Empire, however, the Kaiser’s will is absolute, and his will shall be done no matter the cost, whether in money, materials, or manpower. The Empire is divided into various titles, and sub-titles, the highest being Kaiser Of Eisenreich, the lowest being Friemann. The second most major of the titles, under Kaiser, are Continental titles, of which detail the holder as either High King, Tsar, First Citizen, or Grand Prince. Following Continental titles are Kingdom titles, of which follow the same sizes as the nations that once littered the continents. The rest of the Major Noble titles go from Grand Dukes, Dukes, High Counts, and Counts, and Grand Barons. The titles of minor nobility are countless in name, but under Eisenreichian law, Friemann are the lowest inheritable title one could have.

The Governing of the vast realm is done by Governors appointed by the Kaiser. The nobility get miffed at it, but tolerate it, as the crown greases a few palms to ensure that the bureaucrats are able to do their jobs, and the nobility to continue to do what nobles do best, waste money. Governorships are divided up by population, typically 50 Million people are ruled by a Governor, while they appoint men under them, in a way that befits feudalism. Governors of not easily accessed areas are typically placed under a High Governor. High Governors typically have several Governors placed under them, usually 20 to 30 governors. The governors placed under High Governors are usually in the same geographical areas so that it is easier for them to govern the areas that they command. Above High Governors are Grand Governors, of which they manage 100 High Governors, again usually of the same geographical region. Above the Grand Governors is the Kaiser, of which he manages the 100 Grand Governors.

The Kaiser is in a sense, and absolute monarch, able to arbitrarily declare things, and dismantle much of the bureaucracy without anyone to challenge him directly in power. Of course dismantling the bureaucracy, and arbitrarily executing men for obtuse reasons would push the populace against him, and make ruling Eisenreich near impossible. The Kaiser’s power stems from a long tradition of monarchs, and the strength of the military. In the more democratic regions, he is elected in rigged elections, in more religious ones he is the head of the church, in more tribal he is their high king. Bending both traditions and old laws, the Kaiser’s power is absolute in some, in others, they find extra Marks in their pockets, and discover an old law giving the Kaiser absolute power. A small bureaucratic branch’s job is to ensure that the Kaiser’s power is absolute both legitimately, and in the people’s minds.

The Unfortunate Kaiser[edit]

A lot of this shit's unfinished at this point, and cluttered

A tall, thin, wiry man, with heavy set glasses on his nose, beard and a thick moustache make the Kaiser. Kaiser Albert von Stahlburg is the man’s name, and upon his shoulders rest the fate of 973 billion souls. Needless to say, Stahlburg is a very, very stressed individual. Some noblemen jokingly call him the Iron Kaiser, saying “Our previous Kaisers were of steel, now we have a cheap replacement made of iron.” Under his current rule, Rosenland, the land of poets and thinkers, is besieged by an unknown enemy. While he has managed to prevent the enemy from advancing further, it is too costly to take back what was stolen in the surprise attack by those from beyond the sea. The Kaiser prefers working in the laboratory alongside the Imperial Engineers, and Scientists, than ruling the massive empire, but he has managed to increase the quantity of iron being mined with his new mining charters.

Flora & Fauna[edit]

A lot of this shit's unfinished at this point, and cluttered

Eisenreich’s vast lands unfortunately leads to an impossible large number of animals to classify, name, photograph, and most prestigious of all, get recognized for finding the 1287th subspecies of horse beetle in the region. It would be easier to just name the various super major species that live in Eisenreich. All across Eisenreich, there are beetles. Of course to just simple stop there wouldn’t do them any justice, but to give an idea of what types of beetles, canine beetles, riding beetles, toy beetles, and the most common of all, micro beetles. Canine beetles are beetles who fit the role that a wolf, or dog would fit. They act similar to dogs or wolves, they most commonly live in packs, and are more intelligent than most beetle species. Canine beetles are the most common types of beetles in cities and suburban areas, and are valued for both their protective nature of their owners and children, but for their natural shepherding instincts, usually herding small children away from unknown, or dangerous things, and towards their parents. Riding beetles are valued for obvious reasons, they are easy to ride, they are docile, and they enjoy sugar. There are 3 main types of Riding beetles, horse beetles, ass beetles, now renamed donkey beetles due to the connotations of ass, and pack beetles. Horse beetles are valued for the speed and endurance they are capable of. Donkey beetles are often used for farm work, and are known for their stubbornness when danger is around, or just plain stubbornness. Pack Beetles are capable of carrying high amounts of weight without care, and are migratory, thus are favored by merchants when moving high quantities of materials. Toy beetles, are the various species of beetles bred to be pets. Micro beetles would be a regular beetle to us, but to a world where dog sized beetles are as common as dogs themselves, micro beetles fits better than calling it a beetle.

The second super major species that lives in Eisenreich are the Demidrakes. Breathless dragons bred into docility by the Biserian people, used for various things by the Biserian people. From food, to pack animals, to even assisting shepherds, demidrakes are a common sight. A penchant for recognizing and protecting valuables have lead many Biserian merchants to have demidrakes as guard animals. Demidrakes themselves are bred for loyalty, to recognize men of status, and are a hefty but wise investment for anyone to make. Few actions call for an execution, but among such is stealing a demidrake from it’s owner. The reason for it is because the man isn’t just stealing from the owner, but he’s stealing from multitudes of generations that the demidrake will live to serve and protect. The high cost of a demidrake isn’t due to the number of demidrakes available, because there are an excess of demidrakes. It’s due to the training it takes before a demidrake is made compliant to the new owner. The relative cost for a untrained demidrake compared to a trained one, the untrained one is worth 10 times less than the trained one, but due to the damages the untrained demidrake may cause, it is outlawed in the empire to sell an untrained demidrake.

Treemen, Ents, or Woodbrides, what ever men call them, they are a sizable, and dangerous animal/plant hybrid. Living in the Zauberwald forest, they act as guardians, attempting to protect the giant magical trees of the forrest. Camouflaging themselves as trees, they usually don’t attack a passerby without reason and some accounts say they are capable of speech, however this has been disproven many times. Do not believe any soldiers accounts about Ent’s talking, they were merely on hallucinogens at the time. We direct you towards the Ministry of Biological concerns for in depth proof. There are many trees with similar traits as the Zauberwald tree, and are a categorized from the trees who are unable to direct or carry magical energies, all the way up to the Zauberwald. In construction of military vehicles that require magical assistance to move them, only Zauberwald is used. Thankfully only a small number of vehicles require Zauberwald, and even then a small amount. The only vehicle that requires a large amount of the Zauberwald are the Stahlreisen. Zauberwald is valued because of both the quality, and quantity of magical energies it is able to direct and hold. The trees jealously guarded by the state, and have waged war upon minor nobles for cutting down a single tree for construction of an official Stahlreisen.
