Mind's Eye
The Mind's Eye is a fledgling faction from the Planescape setting of Dungeons & Dragons, created in the wake of the Faction War when members of the exiled/disbanded Sign of One and Believers of the Source united into a new faction-in-exile.
Philosophy[edit]
The Mind's Eye philosophy combines the Signer belief that an individual is the center of their own multiverse with the Godsmen's belief that spiritual growth requires constant struggle and testing. They are inveterate explorers who prowl the Multiverse, seeking to grow as individuals by continually challenging themselves, until ultimately they achieve enlightenment.
Sources[edit]
The Mind's Eye debuted in the adventure Faction War for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition, and gained a Prestige Class in the 3rd editions Planar Handbook.
AD&D Mechanics[edit]
Membership in the Mind's Eye grants a +2 bonus to attempts to disbelieve illusions. Mind's Eye members of 3rd level can Remove Fear 1/day, and those of 7th level have an innate sense of direction, always being able to tell where they are. The downside is that they have a reputation as a bunch of arrogant, self-absorbed douchebags who are even worse than the original Signers; they suffer a -2 penalty to reaction rolls and merchants regularly overcharge them by 10-20%.
