===Light Infantry=== *'''Bao Troops:''' Quintessential cops, the leopard troopers are swollen with unearned authority. They got massively pruned down in N4, losing their X-visor and consolidating their profiles to down to three different loadouts. They're effective against camouflage and impersonators. *'''Celestial Guard:''' The regiment tasked with guarding the Imperial Palace grounds, Celestial Guards make excellent hackers. **'''Gui Feng Xi Zhuang''': Xi Zhuang was good enough to take in N3, and he's back with a vengeance in N4. Xi is absolutely loaded with gear. Strongly recommended, as adding him to any list only makes it better. *'''Imperial Agents, Pheasant Rank:''' Auxiliary command troops, Pheasants are more than capable of picking up the slack if your Lt goes down. Featuring Chain of Command at baseline, Pheasants fulfil an important specialist role, with a variety of support loadouts such as hackers or Madtrap minelayers. Notably, the Tactical Awareness Red Fury Pheasant is one of the few high burst specialists, making her ideal for a late turn 3 objective run. *'''Kuang Shi:''' Made up of dissenters, traitors, and criminals too heinous to be rehabilitated, Kuang Shi are how YJ can afford all of its high value troops. Aggressively costed and Dogged, Kuang Shi are designed to scream across the table and trade life for life with enemy troops. *'''Major Lunah, ex-Aristeia! Sniper:''' A former bloodsport superstar who publicly renounced her Haqqislam citizenship to join Yu Jing, Lunah brings her expert marksmanship, which she uses to great effect. Already quite good in N3, She was massively buffed in N4, and makes an excellent ARO or active turn shooter. *'''Mech-Engineers (Zhanshi Gongcheng):''' Our cheapest engineer. Pretty important when a big chunk of your army is allergic to E/M ammo. If you take him, give him a Yaozao as well. **'''Chief Mech-Engineer Chung-Hee Jeong:''' A new addition with the Betrayal manga. While he's pretty pricy for a 1W trooper at 29-30 pts, Chief Jeong packs a smorgasbord of custom gear and interesting utility. On top of bringing a WIP 14 engineer, he's got the only K1 weapon in all of YJ (and his is Dam 14 to boot). The LRL profile carries a decent midrange weapon that hits like an HRL in his hands. But maybe most interesting is the fact that he carries a repeater, but is ''not'' hackable himself. That means he can walk into ZoC of enemy hackers with impunity, while your hackers make short work of the opposition. *'''Tian Gou, Orbital Activity Squad:''' These guys come with a 360 visor and Holomask. Perfect for baiting the opponent into a trap from time to time. They've a variety of useful profiles and are cheap, quality killer hackers that will be impossible for your opponent to see coming. *'''Zhanshi:''' The humble Zhanshi is mostly here to provide orders. Don't forget that Zhanshi have a LT profile - while it pales in comparison to some other Yu Jing options, you may occasionally find a use for it. *'''Zhanshi Yisheng:''' Your only doctor. Yu Jing's high tier troops all have wounds; it's a very good idea to have a doctor on standby to get a little extra value out of them. If you do take her, don't skimp on expenses and give her a Yaozao. *'''Zhanying Imperial Agents''': The first tier of Imperial Service Agents (Pheasants are the second), Zhanying are the beat cops and detectives that make up the majority of the ISS police force. Their years on the force have given them an uncanny knack for detecting trouble, giving them Sixth Sense on all profiles. Also they have Bioimmunity. Most Zhanying have Sensor, making them excellent at dealing with enemy camo, and Breaker Combi Rifles are effective against almost everything in the game. ====Mercenaries==== *'''Aida Swanson, Submondo Smuggler:''' As a smuggler Booty is an obvious flavor thing, but still very nice from time to time. Forward deployment, MA L2 and Viral Mines, aswell as her SMG make her role of defending/taking the midfield obvious- she's not the cheapest choice for this role, but a competent one, especially if going first. *'''Authorized Bounty Hunters:''' They've got Booty (ReRoll), also stealth can be quite neat in certain situations, but mostly they are a niche unit who can be nice to have if you want to bring something specific to your list you can't have on another unit for some reason. **'''Miranda Ashcroft:''' Gets a bit more versatility and a general boost over the regular Bounty Hunter, but for her price she doesn't bring a lot to Yu Jing. *'''Cube Jäger:''' Irregular parachutists, both profiles bring Paramedic, which seems to be their whole schtick. With WIP 13 they can do the button pressing quite well though and having a SMG and an e/mitter can be very useful to scare away the opponents units after a button is pushed. *'''Knauf, Outlaw Sniper:''' While MSV1 snipers weren't that attractive in N3 the Outrage poster boy turned a whole lot hotter. BS (+1B) and Shock is nasty, and MIM (-3) makes using him a bit safer. Besides that he's not doing much, but that trait also keeps him at an affordable price. *'''Krakot Renegades, Morat Fugitives:''' It’s weird that Krakot is typed as LI, as they are a straight up Warband unit. His purpose is to get up into the opponents face, kill as much as it can and die heroically, in a true Morat fashion. Worth considering for an Alpha Strike, if you can get one. *'''Libertos Freedom Fighters:''' Are the highly popular irregular roadbump unit, coming with either a SMG, or a light shotgun plus shock mines. They also get Camouflage and Forward Deployment (8"), dodge on a 16 and have Dogged! *'''Monstruckers:''' SPAAAACEEE TRUUUCKIIING! Monstruckers are cheap irregular engineers with Climbing Plus and a bunch of nice weapon options. The cheapest loadout comes with an SMG and Drop Bears, making it ideal to push a button and turn their position into a foxhole afterwards. The other two loadouts are also quite useful, just pick the one supplementing your lists loadout the most. *'''Oktavia Grimsdóttir, Icebreake's Harpooner:''' A mercenary character with BS (+1B), Sixth Sense and Dogged. Whith a Missile Launcher and a Contender her role is as an ARO piece, but since she's expensive and barely filling any holes anywhere the main reason to bring her is the cool sculpts she got. *'''REM-Racers, Mercenary Hacker-Pilots:''' These mercenaries bring quite the fun mechanic into the game: With REM-Driver they can buff a remote in the list depending on which loadout you pick! There's also a hacker profile, but Yu Jing has better options for that purpose. *'''Taowu, Mastermind and Schemer:''' Another former A! superstar, Taowu is if you gave the phrase "All according to plan" a profile. Holomask encourages misdirection, and his skills turn him into a walking time bomb that explodes into templates and viral ammo if anything gets close. Also, his model is dope as hell. *'''Warcors:''' 3pts for an irregular Flashpulse ARO. Fit them into your list whenever you got the slot and points, they're well worth it. The 360 visor Warcor is very useful to protect your DZ from enemy parachutists. *'''Wild Bill, Legendary Gunslinger:''' He's fast at MOV 6-2, got (+1Dam) and shock on his BS, also he's got marksmanship and NWI. Neither the rifle nor the contender have a nice rangeband, but with the MULTI pistol he's got a positive rangeband from 0-16", which overall makes him a deadly close-range fighter.
