See, their philosophy can be boiled down to one sentence: Take what you can, and to the pits with the rest. It's a ruthless, almost Darwinistic belief system. You want it? Take it. You're not strong enough to take it? Either get better, or go without. Somebody takes something from you? They deserve it more, unless you man up and take it back.

The Fated, also known as the Takers and the Heartless, are a Faction in Planescape defined by their belief in a combination of the importance of self-determination and survival of the fittest.

See, their philosophy can be boiled down to one sentence: Take what you can, and to the pits with the rest. It's a ruthless, almost Darwinistic belief system. You want it? Take it. You're not strong enough to take it? Either get better, or go without. Somebody takes something from you? They deserve it more, unless you man up and take it back.

Needless to say, this doesn't make the Fated very popular. Especially considering they established themselves as the tax-collecting guild of Sigil!
