The Mathematicians are one of Planescape's "planar sects", minor factions who have little influence in Sigil. They are a splinter group of the Fraternity of Order who spend almost all their time in Mechanus, analyzing and studying the turning of the gears with "a math that makes calculus seem childishly simple". They believe that understanding the logic of Mechanus will unlock the secrets of the multiverse.
