Sera, also called Sarimie, Sarma, and Sirova, is the Cerilian goddess of wealth and luck, and patron of the Brecht. She's the wife of Ruornil, and mother to Eloéle.
History
Originally, Sera was the spiritual leader of the Brecht during the Battle of Mount Deismaar, following the goddess Brenna. As the gods gave their lives to defeat Azrai, Sera was infused with Brenna's essence and acsended to take her place as the patron of the Brechta and the goddess of luck and trade.
Appearance
Sera appears rarely, as she believes that luck comes from within the person, rather than from divine intervention and thus is aloof to her worshippers. When she does appears, she appears as a young adult woman with mature eyes, wearing a fine gown, and carrying a set of scales on her hand. The scales indicate whether the person she appears to has earned her favor or scorn. Sometimes she's known to appear as a domestic cat.
Worshippers
Where there is trade, the worshippers of Sera are found. How she's worshipped depends on where in the world you are, with the Anuireans she represents knowledge and skill over inheritance and tradition, the Khinasi see her as the goddess of money and industry, and the Brecht see her as the guide to power and respect through personal initiative and drive. Her holy days are Ascension Day, when the new gods ascended after the Battle of Mount Deismaar, the Day of Rebirth, first day of spring and trading season, and Haelyn's Festival which the Brecht call Sommerfest.
Sera's church is the only global church in Cerilia, with some believing that she has followers and churches all around Aebrynis. Her church is of course splintered due to how every culture worships her differently, but they do stress that temporal goals are just as important as spiritual ones. Her clerics act as advisors to merchants and crafters of all standings, keep up to date with the current political and economic events, seek out new trade opportunities, and teach crafts and trades in exchange for a cut of their earnings.
Celestial Jewel of Sarimie
The church in the Heartlands of Anuire. They preach that wealth is all, and encourage the acquisition wealth and power that comes with it.
Fortune's Forethought
The church in Berhagen. Mainly concerned with the spiritual well-being of the coastal dwellers, Matilend Friess, the leader of the church, is a live-and-let-live type person who has managed to antagonize the baron of Berhagen with her manners, as she believes him to be too grim.
Nuridan Temple of Sarma
The church in Djafra and Khourane. The temple is more popular in the cities and it's inhabitants, where the money flows. Its leader, Rigel min Namal is mainly interested in expanding the coffers of the temple and his pockets. Should he make his temple a political power, Rigel would be more than willing to usurp followers from rival temples,
Sera's Perfekt Symmetry
The church in the Western Reaches of Brechtür. Originally arbitrators of arguments between the various guilds and power groups, now they're advisors to them. The reason is that their leader, Darold Wohlkern, wasn't ready to quit adventuring and become the leader of the church, so he tries to escape by going on various adventures and leaving his responsibilities behind.
