Creator of the Dragonriders of Pern SF-Fantasy series, which either invented or collected quite a lot of Fandom Favorite tropes for the next forty years... and then she piledrove that fandom into the ground via lawsuits. More-or-less singlehandedly responsible for the "this stuff belongs to the original copyright holders, please don't sue me ;_;" disclaimers on FFnet. If you knew a teenager during the '80s that was the slightest bit into 'romantic fantasy', they probably read at least three Dragonriders books.
