Ataroplis is a city-state whos population consists mostly of coastal merfolk. The city lies on an island in the middle of a large bay/estuary, and its territory includes most of the shoreline around this body of water. The bay is fed by almost 150 rivers and streams and lies on a major ocean going trade route. This places Ataropolis at the center of a large maritime trade network.
