Mot Hadad is the Primarch of the Forge Lords Space Marine Legion.

History[edit | edit source]

Primarch Origin[edit | edit source]

Selfishness, jealousy and ambition. These are the virtues of old Zharr-Hadad that nearly all its inhabitants followed. There was no honour in the courts of the smith-kings, only self-serving acts and ceaseless plotting beneath the kings who constantly committed their resources to ever more construction and industry in the name of progress. Such was the world that young Mot Gaal (as the lord of ash and smoke was then known) was raised in, and though he was taken in as the son of the Grand Smith in his tower of brass, even he was not sheltered from the constant politicking of the noble class. He grew to hate it. He vowed that when he inherited the throne, he would end the dark intrigues that plagued Zharr-Hadad.

Mot Gaal sought to convince his adopted father that the internecine plots of the noble class would only serve to weaken their city-state of Zharr-Gaal but was met with the response that it was and had always been the way of Zharr-Hadadans. Realizing that he would not be able to enact any change until he was the ruler of Zharr-Gaal, Mot simply put his father to the sword and declared himself the tyrant of the city-state. There was no plot, only an action and a statement. His first move as tyrant was to ban the plotting of Zharr-Gaal noble houses against one another, and he executed the firstborn of any that objected.

Mot Gaal knew that the city-states of Zharr-Hadad were rivals, but he did not realize how bitterly they hated one another. When a neighbouring city-state attempted to assassinate him while he held court, he declared war and personally saw to the creation of new weapons to ensure the victory of Zharr-Gaal. After the first city fell, Mot Gaal set his sights on planetary domination. It was not long before he reached this goal, and the world of Zharr-Hadad was well within his grasp. The young primarch took the surname of Hadad to cement his rule.

When the Emperor of Mankind came to Zharr-Hadad, it was in the wake of a war with some minor Xenos empire that had also plagued the nascent empire of Zharr in its early expansions to other worlds in its home system. Mot Hadad recognized the power of the Imperium and willingly bent his knee in vassalhood to the Emperor. He was impressed with the power of the Legiones Astartes and took to commanding his legion with ease. However, some of his early campaigns suffered from arrogance on the part of Mot Hadad, clearly underestimating the tenacity of foul Xenos.

The Great Crusade[edit | edit source]

Brotherwar[edit | edit source]

Mot had prepared a segmentum-spanning ritual to precipitate the rise of a new Chaos God and secure the power to fill the Emperor's place as the Master of Mankind.

Bishop attended the attempted Sanction of Zharr-Hadad, hoping to talk sense into his brother- while Mot was surly, the two had developed a surprising rapport over the Crusade. Calael was certain Mot's wanton slaughter of so many worlds must have been the work of Daemonic influence rather than the will of the usually tidy bureaucrat. The Lodestar's words were in vain, and Mot began his ascension to Daemon Princehood with the rise of Hashut, Lord of Avarice. Bishop and his brothers were forced to retreat, the Wardens covering their escape. The losses the Vth suffered at the Sanction were greater than they had seen in any single previous engagement.

Mot blows up like half of the Union's forge worlds and escalates the Greater Daemon Hashut to Godhood, himself becoming a Daemon Primarch.
