"SO FUCK THE SYSTEM! YOU CAN BRING IT DOWN!"

– The Exploited, "Fuck the System"

"Judean People's Front? No, we're the People's Front of Judea! ... The only people we hate more than the Romans are the Judean People's Front."

– Monty Python, Life of Brian

The Revolutionary League, also known as the Anarchists, are a Faction in Planescape defined by their belief in the injustice and oppression of the existing forms of government throughout the multiverse. As such, they seek to topple the Powers That Be and give everybody the freedom to seek what the True Meaning Of It All is.

In practice, they're a borderline Chaotic Stupid bunch of rabble-rousers who are more of an annoyance than anything serious and who can't agree on anything as a coherent belief greater than "we got to bring down the other Factions".

Second Wave

After the Faction War, the Revolutionary League was very well pleased with themselves; the Factions were all gone now, and so to all practical purposes, they had won. Which meant they now had to figure out what to do. So, formally announcing their disbanding, they retreated to Carceri to begin debating on reinventing themselves as a new faction - one that would serve as shepherds to lead the now-lost residents of Sigil to the truth. To quote their writeup from the end of Faction War:

"Naturally, the system'll have to be harsh at first - the common sods will need firm direction - but as it'll grow out of principles of chaos and truth, it'll be nothing like the Harmonium. Really."

In practice, they spend most of their time arguing and brawling with each other over differences in opinion about... well, everything. Nothing actually ever gets done.

Not that this stops a hardcore bunch of the old guard declaring they want nothing to do with this new plan, and splintering away to form The Second Wave, which exists to perpetuate the original ideas of the Revolutionary League, with a special focus on fouling up whatever their former comrades cook up.
