The Empire is getting back together again! Battletome announced, but don't expect much here for a while until the leaks start rolling in.

Confirmed subfaction in the tome

  • The Gunsmith, Organ Gun and Cannon were squatted
• Free Peoples
  • Archers were removed entirely, while the Freeguild General is now just stuck with a Zweihander
• Collegiate Arcane
• Shadowblades
• Devoted of Sigmar
  • Warrior-Priests, Witch Hunters and War-Altars of Sigmar were squatted and the Excelsior War-Priest is unknown.
• Dispossessed
  • The Unforged, Warriors, Thunderers and Quarrellers were squatted
• Wanderers
  • Glade Guard, Spellsingers, Wayfinder, Waystriders, and Waywatchers were squatted.

Confirmed Allied armies

The Open Day Blog states that Stormcast Eternals, as well as Kharadron and Sylvaneth for their respective cities, can be included "as full members of your army that share your allegiance abilities." So instead of being allied armies, you can just grant them the city's faction keyword and field them in your main army.

Why Play Cities of Sigmar

Pros

• If you complained about all the needless separations and divisions of old Empire/Dwarf/Elf models, then this faction fixes all that.

Cons

• Comes at the cost of mass squatting, particularly of old High Elves.
• A lot of remaining factions lost a their units, like the Devoted losing Warrior-Priests, Witch Hunters, and the War-Altar.
