Amador Galán
"It is always interesting to consider the Human mind. True, any could attribute some deviance to the Warp Storms that once plagued this area. But consider, perhaps, that the Imperial Subjects stranded here were subjected to an even more insidious temptation. A life filled without an obligation of duty to their Emperor - a life filled only with their own selfish desires."
Amador Galán is a man in his late nineties, yet thanks to multiple rejuvenant treatments does not appear a day older than thirty-five. His charming personality and rugged good looks are reminiscent of a fictional, adventuring Rogue Trader rather than an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus. Yet behind this personable exterior lies a man hardened by his experiences with the forces of Chaos and haunted by decisions he has had to make to defend the Imperium.
A liberal-leaning Puritan, Amador understands the place of psykers and mutants is one of servitude, and that they should be made to understand their inferiority. While he is not directly affiliated with any single sub-faction within the Inquisition, he developed a view of life akin to that held by many members of the Amalathians.
Originally born on an agri-world, Amador tried for many years after he entered the service of the Inquisition to lose his accent, though he met with little success. While this drawl is not as noticeable when Amador is speaking High Gothic, it is instantly recognizable should he switch to Low Gothic, rending his speech nearly incomprehensible to some.
Unlike the majority of his fellow Inquisitors, Amador is married and has two children, both girls in their low teens. From a young age Amador has impressed on his girls the importance of education and a wide knowledge base.
Two decades ago, Amador advanced Hagen Reine, his most experienced Acolyte, to the rank of Interrogator as he believed that the man had the faith, conviction and knowledge to eventually become a fully fledged Inquisitor. Reine, a mid-level Delta class psyker, as an ambitious individual and he sought to speed his promotion to Inquisitor by seeking out Forbidden Lore in the hopes of turning the power of the warp against itself. This decision proved to be Reine's undoing as the knowledge slowly corrupted him, turning him against the Emperor and the Imperium. Knowing that Amador would surely execute him should he discover the depth of his heresy, Reine purchased the loyalty of a mercenary crew, seized a Claymore Class Corvette and fled Imperial space.
Upon discovering the depths of his pupil's betrayal and heresy, Amador vowed not only to chase the former Interrogator down to bring him to justice, but that he would also not ever promote another acolyte to the rank of Interrogator until this task was complete. Amador has spent the past two decades scouring the galaxy for any sign of Reine, some would say that the Inquisitor's determination to find his former student is almost obsessive.
Osetalan Crusade[edit | edit source]
Amador joined the Crusade force primarily for two reasons. His wife and children have grown tired of accompanying him around the galaxy, as such he has brought them along in the hopes of finding a good colony world for them to settle down. Secondly, as the Crusade was being established, his contacts provided him with information which indicated that Reine had reappeared in the newly discovered Oestalan Sector. Furthermore, these contacts revealed that Reine had been transporting a cargo-load of archeotech, though to what end Amador could only guess.
Unwilling to disrupt Crusade operations by forcing his own starship into the fleet, Amador has instead requested a series of suites on board the Retribution Class Battleship Pride of Vintras for himself, his family and his retainers. While he knew that the amount of free space available would be limited, this did not prevent him from bringing along a significant portion of his personal archives; a library of all manner of information with texts from all manner of fields of study.
A platoon of veteran Adeptus Arbites accompanies Amador on this Crusade, they've come to bring order to the Sector by re-establishing an Arbite presence. Yet this mission is secondary to the orders of the Inquisitor. He is also accompanied by his loyal butler, a man who is always close by and ready with a cup of recaff and a loaded weapon.
