An unloved Dungeons and Dragons Prestige Class for Bards. Non-good bards who sing depressing songs about death and lamentation actually make a pretty fucking awesome support class. It's a 5-level PRC, whose advantages include affecting undead with Bardic Music (a side effect of the feat required for it, actually), damaging enemies' stats round-by-round until they save against it, and the piece de la resistance, animating a dead enemy with all of its class skills and abilities for as long as they continue to play. The benefits of murdering an enemy healer so it can provide healing to your party, a mage so it can cast offensive or defensive spells for you should be obvious - potentially ANY dead creature can be bound to your will - with all its abilities - using this class - and it's available a hell of a lot earlier than several counterparts in other class combinations.

So totally from the book Libris Mortis it hurts. A remarkably useful and unsung powerhouse class for the Bard, alongside Fiend-Blooded.

However, if you insist your music is Linkin Park or the like, /tg/ will mock you. It will likewise mock you anyway for running a bard, but whatever.

Requirements and hit dice for Dirgesingers

Hit Die: d6

To qualify to become a Dirgesinger, a character must fulfill all the following criteria:

   * Alignment: Any nongood
   * Skills: Knowledge (religion) 4 ranks, Perform (any) 8 ranks
   * Feats: Requiem.
   * Special: Bardic music class feature.
