Codex - Emperor's Children
LORDS OF PROFLIGACY[edit | edit source]
In this section you’ll find rules for Battle-forged armies that include EMPEROR'S CHILDREN Detachments – that is, any Detachment which includes only EMPEROR'S CHILDREN units. These rules include the abilities below and a series of Stratagems that can only be used by the Emperor's Children. This section also includes the Emperor's Children’s unique Warlord Traits, Psychic Discipline, Relics and Tactical Objectives. Together, these rules reflect the character and fighting style of the Emperor's Children in your games of Warhammer 40,000.
FLAWLESS PERFECTION[edit | edit source]
Inured to everyday sensations by lifetimes of indulgence, the Emperor’s Children find stimulation only in excess, be it shocking acts of violence or gratuitous displays of martial prowess.
Units with this trait always fight first in the Fight phase even if they didn’t charge. If the enemy has units that have charged, or that have a similar ability, then alternate choosing units to fight with, starting with the player whose turn is taking place.
CHILDREN OF THE EMPEROR[edit | edit source]
Originally the proud III Legion, given the name of the Emperor's Children for their excellent service in his name, they now bear the name of the Emperor's Children in grim mockery and shout back the warcries of loyalists in mockery of a faith they abandoned in search for pleasure and decadence.
If your army is Battle-forged, all Troops units in EMPEROR'S CHILDREN Detachments gain this ability. Such a unit that is within range of an objective marker (as specified in the mission) controls that objective marker even if there are more enemy models within range of it. If an enemy unit within range of the same objective marker has a similar ability, then the objective marker is controlled by the player who has the most models within range as normal.
WARLORD TRAITS[edit | edit source]
The Emperor's Children only let themselves be led into battle by the most depraved and genius commanders. Masters of battle aided by the dark whispers of Slaanesh, these commanders have each left behind them a path of destruction and degeneracy over the millennia.
If an EMPEROR'S CHILDREN CHARACTER is your Warlord, he can generate a Warlord Trait from the following table instead of the one in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. You can either roll on the table below to randomly generate a Warlord Trait, or you can select the one that best suits his temperament and preferred style of waging war.
D6 RESULT[edit | edit source]
1 SONGWRITER OF MISERY[edit | edit source]
Any enemy units that suffer one or more unsaved wounds from one or more units within 6" of your Warlord in the Shooting phase must subtract 1 from their Leadership until the end of the turn.
2 VICTIMMAKER[edit | edit source]
Each time your Warlord destroys a unit you gain 1 Command Point.
3 EXCELLENCE IN EXTRAVAGANCE[edit | edit source]
Each time you roll an unmodified hit roll of 6 in the Fight phase for a model in a friendly EMPEROR'S CHILDREN unit that is within 6" of your Warlord, you can make one additional hit roll for that model with the same weapon against the same target. These additional hit rolls cannot themselves generate any further hit rolls.
4 MASTERY OF MELEE[edit | edit source]
Change your Warlord's Attacks characteristic to 6.
5 STIMULATED BY PAIN[edit | edit source]
Add 1 to your Warlord’s Attacks characteristic for each wound he is missing (to a maximum of +3).
6 DEPRAVED MASTERMIND[edit | edit source]
If your Warlord is on the table roll a D6 at the start of the game for each Command Point your opponent has in excess of you; for each roll of 6 you gain 1 Command Point. In addition, gain 1 Command Point each time your opponent gains a Command Point.
