Dragon Overlord
Dragon Overlords are a kind of uber-dragon from the Dungeons & Dragons setting of Dragonlance, introduced as the Next Big Threat after the Chaos War storyline. During the absence of the gods (secretly a plot by Takhisis), an impossibly large Red Dragon female named Malystryx flew from her own alien world, a place where dragons grew far, far larger than on Krynn, and promptly decided she was going to take over. To put things in perspective, on her own world, the 400ft-long adult female was considered a runt. She was then followed by three others from her homeworld, with two pre-existing notable dragons of Krynn being retconned into also having come from there long ago. But it wasn't just their size that made them dangerous; instead, the future Overlords discovered that they could create magical totems from the skulls of slain dragons, which amongst other effects could be used to terraform vast swathes of land more to their liking, and also transform humanoids into draconic servitors.
The Dragon Overlords dominated vast swathes of Krynn during the Fifth Age, but several of them were slain during the War of Souls.

There are two splatbooks that are most worth checking out for lore on Dragon Overlords.
Dragonlance: Fifth Age, the corebook for the SAGA System version of Dragonlance, is set during the reign of the Dragon Overlords.
Whilst the Overlords are mentioned in passing in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting corebook for Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition, they are most fully detailed in the Dragonlance: Age of Mortals expansion, which also includes mechanics for Dragon Skull Totems and a Dragon Overlord Template.
The existence, histories and stats for the minor Dragon Overlords was the subject of a web enhancement for the Dragonlance 3e campaign setting, which can be found here: https://dragonlancenexus.com/wp-content/uploads/DRAGON_OVERLORDS.pdf
