Hektor Heresy BFG rules
This page details people, events, and organisations from the /tg/ Heresy, a fan re-working of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. See the /tg/ Heresy Timeline and Galaxy pages for more information on the Alternate Universe.

Before the Imperial Reformation, there was no Imperial Navy with control over the Imperium's warships. Therefore, the Legiones Astartes controlled powerful battlefleets, not limited to the battle barges and strike cruisers that the later Space Marine Chapters would employ.

Ships of the Great Crusade[edit | edit source]
Capital Ships[edit | edit source]
Basileus-class Battle Barge (440 points)
Forsaking the heavy armour protection of the other Legion battle barges, the massive Basileus class was designed as a second-wave assault ship. Its cavernous interior can hold vast quantities of material, to be delivered to the surface of a planet via its great launch bays. During the Hektor Heresy, these rare vessels were often employed as fleet carriers.

Notes: The Basileus cannot use Come to a New Heading special orders. |
Infernus-class Battleship (325 points)
One of the true monsters of the Legion Fleets, the Infernus mounts a deadly spinal Exo-Lance weapon capable of vaporizing a cruiser with a single shot.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Battleship/12 | 20cm | 45° | 4 | 5+ | 3 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||

Starboard Launch Bay | Furies:30cm/Starhawks:20cm | 4 | Starboard | ||
Port Launch Bay | Furies:30cm/Starhawks:20cm | 4 | Port |
Notes: The Spinal Exo-Las Weapon of an Infernus Class is a weapon of exceptional destructive capabilities. It inflicts critical hits on a 5+ rather than a 6. Additionally, the Infernus cannot use Come to a New Heading special orders. |
Tiamat-class Shield Bastion (270 points)
The Tiamat Class is the most heavily armored of all the classes of warships employed in the Great Crusade. Meters upon metres of armor lie beneath thick banks of Void Shields, making it difficult to knock out. However it sacrifices armament and speed for this.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Battleship/12 | 15cm | 45° | 6 | 6+ | 5 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||
Port Batteries | 45cm | 6 | Left | ||
Starboard Batteries | 45cm | 6 | Right | ||
Dorsal Bombardment Cannons | 45cm | 8 | Left/Front/Right |
Notes: The Tiamat’s heavy armor protects it from harm, and successful critical hits made against it must be re-rolled. The Tiamat cannot use Come to a New Heading special orders. |
Victory-class Battleship (310 points)
The Victory Class is a heavy ship of the line for the Legion Fleets, we’ll armed and armored and capable of facing off against most enemy opposition at long range.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Battleship/12 | 20cm | 45° | 4 | 5+ | 5 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||
Port Batteries | 60cm | 12 | Left | ||
Starboard Batteries | 60cm | 12 | Right | ||
Dorsal Planetary Assault Petard | 30-120cm | 1 | Front | ||
Prow Torpedoes | Speed:30cm | 8 | Front |
Notes: The Planetary Assault Petard counts as a Nova Cannon. The Victory cannot use Come to a New Heading special orders. |
Charibdys-class Grand Cruiser (270 points)
Designed as a test bed for awesome new weaponry, most of the Charibdys class were hastily completed and rushed into service armed with tried and true armaments.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Grand Cruiser/10 | 25cm | 45° | 3 | 5+ | 3 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||
Port Batteries | 45cm | 7 | Left | ||
Starboard Batteries | 45cm | 7 | Right | ||
Dorsal Lance Batteries | 45cm | 4 | Left/Front/Right | ||
Prow Launch Bay | Furies:30cm/Starhawks:20cm | 4 | N/A | ||
Prow Torpedoes | Speed:30cm | 6 | Front |
Notes: A few Charibys were completed with their experimental weapons. You may exchange the Dorsal Lance Batteries for a Nova Cannon or a Plasma Destructor (15cm range, 10 firepower, always hits on a 5 or more and inflicts critical hits on a 5 or more) at no additional cost. In either case, the new weapon fires Forward only. |
Inflexible-class Strike Cruiser (320 points)
The Inflexible was designed to meet the needs of far-ranging Expeditionary fleets for a powerful, high-endurance assault vessel. Initially planned to bridge the gap between the Basileus and the Olympia, the Design Synod re-calibrated the Inflexible after consulting with a number of Space Marine captains who had led long-range strikes. Trusting in the experience of these warriors, the Arch Magoi did away with the design's torpedo tubes and increased the strength of its heavy bombardment cannons.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Grand Cruiser/10 | 25cm | 45° | 3 | 6+ | 3 |

Dorsal Bombardment Cannons | 30cm | 6 | Left/Front/Right | ||
Prow Launch Bay | Thunderhawks:20cm | 3 | N/A |
Armiger-class Cruiser (160 points)
Swift and carrying a formidable array of lance weaponry, the Armiger was a mainstay of the Expeditionary fleets. Due to their short range and weak armour, most of these vessels were lost during the Hektor Heresy and the Great Scouring.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cruiser/8 | 30cm | 45° | 2 | 5+ | 2 |

Starboard Lance Batteries | 30cm | 4 | Right |
Crusade-class Cruiser (185 points)
An old design, justly synonymous with the Emperor's great struggle to unite the human race, the Crusade could once be found in every corner of the Galaxy.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cruiser/8 | 30cm | 45° | 2 | 5+ | 2 |

Prow Weapons Batteries | 45cm | 6 | Left/Front/Right | ||
Prow Torpedoes | Speed:30cm | 6 | Front |
Dodona-class Strike Cruiser (165 points)
Some of the Legiones Astartes were reluctant to use orbital bombardment except in the most dire circumstances. The Dodona and similar classes fulfilled this preference by acting as a swift and durable platform for bombers and landing craft. The development of the Thunderhawk and Thunderhawk Annihilator greatly increased the popularity of this vessel.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cruiser/6 | 30cm | 45° | 1 | 6+ | 2 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||

Starboard Batteries | 45cm | 4 | Right | ||
Prow Launch Bays | Thunderhawks:20cm | 4 | N/A |
Hellfire-class Lance Cruiser (230 points)
The Hellfire was a type of cruiser entirely armed with heavy lance weaponry, designed to be capable of carving apart even the most heavily armored warship after several bruising encounters with Core and Demiurg Warships during the mid stages of the Crusade. Difficult to build and with temperamental power conducts that needed constant replacing and limited the ships speed, this complex design was lost in the wake of the Hektor Heresy.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cruiser/8 | 25cm | 45° | 2 | 5+ | 2 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||

Starboard Lance Batteries | 30cm | 6 | Right | ||
Dorsal Lances | Speed:45cm | 4 | Left/Front/Right |
Escorts[edit | edit source]
Spectre-class Warp Runner (25 points)
One of the swiftest vessels ever built by the Imperium, the Spectre served the Expeditionary Fleets in a variety of support roles. Most frequently, they would be sent ahead of the main body to gather up-to-date tactical intelligence before a main strike was launched.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Escort/1 | 40cm | 90° | 1 | 4+ | 1 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||
Prow Weapons Batteries | 30cm | 2 | Left/Front/Right |
Notes: The Spectre class was fitted with a powerful sensor suite that adds +1 to its Leadership rating. The improved thrusters of this design give it an additional D6cm movement when on All Ahead Full orders |
Thunderbolt-class Heavy Frigate (60 points)
The Thunderbolt was an uncommon sight in the fleets of the Imperium, but its peculiar qualities made it much sought-after. It was quick and agile, but armed with a battery of lances the envy of many cruiser captains. If the heavy frigate was capable, it was not without its disadvantages. Due to the immense energy requirements of its armament, power couplings tended to burn out quickly and it was impossible to manoeuvre and keep the lances firing.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Escort/1 | 35cm | 90° | 1 | 4+ | 1 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE | FIREPOWER/STRENGTH | FIRE ARC | ||
Prow Lances | 30cm | 3 | Left/Front/Right |
Notes: While on All Ahead Full or Come to a New Heading orders the Thunderbolt may not fire its lance weaponry. This represents the limited power supply of this small vessel. |
Vigil-class Siege Frigate (40 points)
Although slow for an escort, the Vigil's powerful bombardment cannons often played a critical role in breaking down tough planetary defences.
TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Escort/1 | 25cm | 90° | 1 | 5+ | 1 |

Legion Special Rules[edit | edit source]
Some of the Legiones Astartes have unique rules to represent their fleets.
- Fifth Legion Fleets - these detail the rules for the Expedition Fleets of Gaspard Lumey's gene-sons, variously known as the Winged Victory or Void Angels
