Why Play Druze Bayram Security?[edit | edit source]

Play DBS if you want to use an army list that is a mix of Haqq, PanO, and other assorted mercenaries troops while still complaining about being underpowered when compared to other factions. Basically, you play DBS if you want "cool" little Fireteam combinations that other players will call a "negative play experience" after you fire an E/M grenade launcher on top of their core link team. Also, go ahead and play DBS if you like unscrupulous mercenaries that only commit slightly less war crimes than Ikari Company. Or possibly more. It is a secret society.

Faction Features[edit | edit source]

  • Soldiers of Fortune: as well as the titular Druze, you get access to Brawlers, Bounty Hunters and even PanO REMs!
  • Shock Teams: The main reason to play Druze. If you like the Druze Shock Team profiles, you play DBS. If you don't, you're probably playing Qapu Khalki or Ikari. They're decently armored and have a good selection of weapons.
  • Flexible links: In exchange for a limited army list, Druze has one of the most flexible fireteam compositions in N4 outside of Tohaa and Spiral Corps. These link teams provide excellent mid-field punching power, and are dangerous to mess with at multiple ranges.

Special Skills & Equipment[edit | edit source]

  • Fireteams: You can't talk about this sectorial and not talk about Fireteam compositions, but we'll get to that in a moment. Many duo options exist (even the extremely spicy TAG + Engineer one of Joe "Scarface" Turner and his kid sister), two Haris options, but only one true 'core' option that is focused on the Druze themselves.
  • Druze: These elite MI are the heart and soul of the DBS-sectorial and are equipped to the brim with rules and equipment for almost any threat or situation.
  • Beep-boop m*therfucker: You get access to REMs mostly through PanO with the exception of your baggage and servant REMs which are Haqq. You are less likely to field the Haqq REM aside from using them as a source of cheap regular orders or as your EVO hacker for access to supportware.
  • One wound or bust: DBS has no access to HI, and your only three wound models are effectively the two TAG-options of taking an Anaconda or Scarface and Cordelia which means that you are more vulnerable to shock than most because of a lack of multi wound, immunity to shock profiles in the sectorial.
  • Good Wi-Fi: With an abundance of pitchers, Hunzakut Forward Observers, and REM's with built-in repeaters; it is easy to create an extensive repeater net when playing DBS.
  • Scarface and Cordelia: DBS lets this sibling pair really shine, and the pair is a steal at the price which opens up the possibility of taking a double tag list by also utilizing an Anaconda.

Unit Overview[edit | edit source]

Unit Identifier Druze

Fireteam Options[edit | edit source]

    • Fireteam: Duo: A great combo for a lieutenant and their support, but they are otherwise overshadowed by the other fireteam options aside from Scarface and Cordelia (an engineer) being able to duo together.
    • Fireteam: Haris: This is typically intended to be a small gun platform team for the HRL or MULTI sniper brawler.
    • Fireteam: Core: Brawlers can be a part of any Fireteam of Druze, and it is best to add a Doctor and/or a MSV2 Brawler to the Fireteam Core.

A special note is that you can take exactly 1 Clipper (missile) dronbot in each fireteam which opens up great synergy when it comes to using guided missile launcher attacks.

Light Infantry[edit | edit source]

  • Authorized Bounty Hunters: They are cheap wildcards with the ability to reroll their Booty rolls. The upgraded weapons they get from booty are great, and especially the Sniper/double Breaker pistol combo for 19 PTS/0.5 SWC, and the Red-fury equipped ones at 20 PTS/0.5 SWC are a steal.
    • Fireteam: Duo: It is hard not to like these, especially the Sniper + Red Fury duo which is awesome if you can fit them into yours points and SWC.
  • Bashi Bazouks:Bashi Bazouks have Holoprojector, Holomask, and Parachutist, which make for an incredible combination. They can be a great disruption unit, if you have some leftover points. However, they do requires some foresight since they are dirt cheap irregulars. - troopers that are a low investment that have the added bonus that losing them does not hurt your order pool. Popular profiles include the SMG+Chain Colt, Combi+E/M Mines, and the Specialist Operative with an AP-Rifle and Light Shotgun.
  • Valerya Gromoz, Mercenary Hacker: An inexpensive WIP 14 multi-purpose Hacker. She comes with a Pitcher, and can be easily parked next to a Kameel baggage REM to resupply. She can join any of the fireteams of DBS due to being a Wildcard which would potentially reduce costs, add specialists, or add more hacker support/fulfilling fireteams that have recently deceased troopers.
  • WarCor: 3 pts Irregular Flash Pulse ARO piece with a 360 visor or sixth sense. They are still not very useful, but if you have 3 spare points and all your Doctors and Engineers already have G: Servants, then why not?

Medium Infantry[edit | edit source]

  • Armand 'Le Muet,' Freelance Killer: While poor old Armand cannot remember which side he's truly on; he still is an irritating ARO piece because of his -6 Mimetism. He also comes with the option of either a shock minelayer to protect himself, or a MSV1 though the MSV2 Brawler might be the more cost-effective sniper due to how costly Armand is.
  • Druze Shock Teams: This is allegedly the 'reason' why you're playing this sectorial in the first place. Your standard Druze packs a combi-rifle, chain colt, an X Visor, and a viral pistol with Veteran and BS Attack (+1 Dam). Druze options include a paramedic, a lieutenant, a panzerfaust, a normal hacker, or a killer hacker. They can also take a HMG or a MULTI-sniper with -3 mimetism, but the spiciest profile adds a normal grenade launcher as well as an E/M grenade launcher. The EM/Regular Grenade launcher when combined with the X Visor allows you to roll the dice and potentially cause your opponent to have a very bad time (tm). Druze Shock Teams have a dizzying array of options, but they carry a heavy price due to the amount of weapons they bring with them which make wildcards and brawlers necessary for most army lists.
    • Security Chief Arslan:An extremely fluffy lieutenant choice that is also very expensive for having only a slightly better BS than normal druze as well as having No Wound Incapacitation (but no Immunity: Shock). His MSV1, Dodge (+3), and Multi Rifle does allow him to do some work, but he might be a bit too pricey for most Druze lists at the moment.
  • Brawlers:These guys and gals fill a variety of roles in your army lists because they can either be apart of any Druze fireteam or be paired up in a duo with Scarface. They are decent shots with decent armor in cover, and you can trade their Rifle and Light Shotgun for the ever popular MULTI Sniper Rifle and MSV2 or a submachine gun equipped hacker. They also have access to a profile with a Heavy Rocket Launcher and an assault pistol. They also can be an engineer, a doctor, or even your Lieutenant if you do not mind a rather lackluster WIP of 12.

Heavy Infantry[edit | edit source]

  • Diggers, Armed Prospectors: One of two units this sectorial has received from TAGRaid and of course the only HI would be a mercenary - this is a mercenary army! This one, in contrast to the rest of the army, is more of a close-combat specialist. Packing short ranged guns, the primary draw is this guy's high CC, NBW, bonus CC damage and attacks with their AP CCW. Even their battle-ravaged stat-line is a tough customer! Even better, these guys are wildcards and count as Druze for fireteams.

Tactical Armoured Gear[edit | edit source]

  • Anaconda: The toughest fire support you can field in the army and a decent, cheap light TAG. The +1 to their BS Attack damage makes their AP Spitfire hit as hard as a normal HMG, and the Anaconda still has a Panzerfaust for more hardened targets. They can also still take an actual HMG and chain colt which replaces the AP Spitfire and light flamethrower respectively.
    • Pilot: The good new is she's finally a specialist! And she has a decent BS and retrains the spitfire (albeit not an AP one) after bailing out of her TAG... which she might actually do thanks to her Escape System.
  • Scarface And Cordelia: They're still around and in the DBS they are doing what they do best at their best, kicking asses. Scarface's TAG throws down with 2 Mk12's, an HRL and an AP CCW with assault. Not bad considering his high CC, PH and MOV. When he bails, he gets a BSG and becomes a Spec Op. His sister is a well equipped specialist with -3 mimetism, WIP 13, a combi rifle, and a chaincolt and d-charges. Together these two are very good value for their points since you get an option of three good weapon profiles as well as a mimetism equipped engineer for a -relatively- cheap price.
    • Fireteam: Duo Together Cordelia and Scarface can form a Fireteam: Duo which keeps Scarface out of Frenzy/Impetous, and also lets you move a specialist up the board. Remember that you can swap out Cordelia for Valerya if you would rather synchronize a nasmat to Coredila instead. All in all, everything listed adds even more value to the already competitively priced Scarface/Cordelia package.
  • Triphammers, Repurposed Industrial TAGs: The other unit from TAGRaid, you will immediately compare them to Anacondas because they are in the same classification and cost about the same. These TAGs have a battle-ravaged state after their two STR fails them and their CC attacks are anti-material, which you would expect from repurposed mining equipment.

Remotes[edit | edit source]

  • Dronbots: Standard issue S3 PanO Remotes that will get the job done.
    • Clipper: The ML Remote. It can be included in any fireteam of your choice, giving it the bonuses of fireteams and most likely the real reason for bringing it. Adding supportware - Assisted Fire, but also possibly Enhanced Reaction - to it while in the fireteam is icing on the cake which makes it a vicious ARO-threat capable of ignoring cover penalties and firing an extra missile.
    • Fugazi: The Repeater/Flash Pulse Remote. A cheap Regular Order and mobile Repeater. Nice filler in your list, or a source of a Flash Pulse ARO.
    • Pathfinder: The Forward Observer Remote. Mobile Repeater, armed, specialist, for 16 pts. It is one of two choices for Forward Observer available to DBS.
    • Sierra: The HMG Total Reaction Remote. Just park it where it can cause your opponent the most trouble moving around.
  • Peacemaker Armbots: It comes with a Repeater and a Heavy Shotgun and Spitfire options as well as Forward Deployment (+8") meaning that they get to start eight inches further up the board. All profiles come with a Heavy Flamethrower-Auxbot, making it fit more for mid-field disruption. It can be used to fill a blind spot, and it is arguably better due to its two-in-one nature.
  • Kameels: Standard Baggage REMs with an EVO Hacker option. These are arguably your best toolbox hacker considering the extras you get out of EVO hacking devices. The EVO hacker lets you buff the Clipper Dronbot to ignore the BS component of partial cover.
  • Nasmat: Nasmats keep your doctors and engineers safe from harm and extend their range, but then they can't join fireteams. This is a serious setback - generally pass.

Skirmishers[edit | edit source]

  • Hunzakuts: Irregular, but inexpensive. They are a fairly decent Camo Infiltrator (the only one available in DBS) and they all come with Antipersonnel Mines. The Forward Observer benefits from Haqqislam's strong WIP14 for either Objective grabbing or Flash Pulse. No other infiltrating unit have Deployable Repeaters, so if you want to extend your hackers' influence, Hunzakuts can easily plant Repeaters further up the board. The Light Grenade Launcher option is also pretty solid, because she can deploy further up the board and Speculative Fire. It's possible to impose a -6MOD with Suprise Shot L1 and dodging templates without LoF.
  • Saito Togan: Saito is a Camoflage Infiltrating ninja mercenary. Similar to JSA's Oniwaban, he's a CC threat that can remove most targets from the board. Be careful when approaching troops with shotguns or other template weapons - it's best to keep him in Hidden Deployment until someone wanders too close. For an extra point, you can have him as a Specialist - given your specialist options, it's rare that you won't bring him as a Specialist.

Warbands[edit | edit source]

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Wolff, Wulver Bounty Hunter: One of DBS's wildcard options, but he's also very capable of going solo. He's got a MULTI Rifle (+1B) which is nice, but he really wants to get up close; Berserk (+3), MA L3 and a PARA CC Weapon (-6) are probably the meanest combination of things you can bring into CC in this sectorial. To finish the enemy unit off for good he's also bringing a DA CC Weapon.

Building Your Army[edit | edit source]

A key feature of this mercenary company is that a lot of their armies are cobbled together out of leftovers and cast-offs from other lists. Haqq in particular is the closest cousin to DBS, and they are an obvious starting point for DBS. Having access to different brawlers will help with fireteam composition and army list building going forward. Hunzakuts and Pan-O Dronbots make good next steps, and both of these will likely see play in most lists.
