Mortis Engines are baleful constructs that are steeped in death magic and dark energy, gaining more as war and death rages around them, they are capable of invigorating the undead while sapping the strength from the living. Made from the bones of a struckdown powerful Necromancer Lord or Lich, adorned with various fetishes and relics the wore in both life and unlife, Mortis Engines act as conduits of their malign will, scouring battle fields with death energy. Think of them as ghost powered nuclear reactors and you wouldn't be far off, they can even overcharge themselves on death, eventually exploding in massive explosions of death magic. They are held aloft by the very angry spirits of followers and servants of the necromancer whose remains are kept in the engine, guarding it with ferocity and almost feral attacks.
