  • 15:2615:26, 23 September 2022 diff hist −330 Knight Undo revision 848638 by SaltyMan (talk), this is a historical misperception; crusading in the Levant was intimately tied with that in Iberia (and elsewhere), in fact the most successful actions of the 2nd Crusade occurred in Iberia, ultimately more crusades would be declared against European targets than Asia and Africa combined as overtime the papacy used them with increasing frequency as a political tool/weapon against it's opponents
