A Tarh'noki channeling heavy Princess of Mars vibes.

The Tarh'noki or more normally known by wider Necromunda as the Dustback Helamite Riders or Dust Riders are the riding Prospects and cavalry units of the Ash Waste Nomads.

Overview[edit | edit source]

As their name indicates, the Dustback Helamite Riders ride on the fabled Helamites into battle. Due to the Helamites' fearsome reputation as a predator, the Tarh'noki are frightening for their foes to encounter, which is no surprise given that if you were fighting a giant jumping cockroach, pants shall be shat. Not only because the Dustbacks have trained the giant durable insects to ride upon, but also the terror the Helamites' cause when the Tarh'noki leap at their foes from out of the wasteland's gloom.

As cavalry units, these guys are the Rough Riders of Necromunda. They wield a bunch of weapons that best suit their fighting style, including the Chain Lance, Blast Rifles, Long Rifles and Blast Pistols.

Crunch[edit | edit source]

On Necromunda, these guys are the ultimate hit-and-run unit. Their movement is impressive thanks to their Helamites and the weapons they carry hits like a freight train. Whilst the chain lance is pretty good on the Nomad Chieftan, they really start to shine through here. Lance weapons gain +1 strength on the drive-by or charge, which is particularly nasty paired with its versatile nature. Moreover, a Helamite rider can act as a mobile long rifle platform if you want to opt for a more shootier playstyle. The change to keeping prospect gear on promotion also means that extremely fortunate bugs could live long enough to become a skittering champion with a charge caster.
