Why choose The Grey Company?

Recreate one of your favorite scenes from the books, get access to one of the most elite Legendary Legions in the game. Be warned they are not as strong as other Legions, but it does the job.

The Grey Company

The Grey Company Legion consists of:

• Aragorn-Strider with all upgrades (He can get def 6 with the armor in this legion, in The return of the king legion he is stuck at def 5) except horse
• Halbarad with Banner of Arwen Evenstar upgrade
• Legolas Greenleaf with armor and elven cloak upgrades
• Gimli with elven cloak upgrade
• Elladan and Elrohir with an elven bow, cloak, and heavy armor upgrades for both
• Ranger of the North with just the spear upgrade

Any unlisted upgrade means you can't take those upgrades in order to run this legion which means no horses, and all upgrades listed are optional for those characters

Additional Rules

• A Grey Company force must have Aragorn-Strider in the army and as leader
• Regardless of the number of models you must deploy as a single warband with Aragorn being that warbands captain

Special Rules

• Passing of the Grey Company: The Rangers army bonus is retained and applied to the whole warband and the Rangers of the North also benefit from the Stand Fast! of Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Halbarad, Elladan, and Elrohir. The Rangers of the North also get the 2 attacks for being infantry.
• The Heir of Isildur: The Anduril, Flame of the West upgrade for Aragorn is free

How to Buy

• For the most up to date models use the Three Hunters set (with dice if you are able)
• Elladan & Elrohir from the Rivendell page
• Lords of the Dunedain which gives you Halbarad with and without banner (be honest you don't run him without banner)
• If you want to you could the old metal rangers of the north kit for the nice poses, but they are showing their age. If you want the most cost-efficient way to build this legion buy the plastic rangers of middle earth kit the number of models you need will never exceed the amount in one kit and all the models have the same wargear as their metal counterparts.

Tactics

• This legion essentially runs similar to The Rangers you just have more named heroes in this list rather than The Rangers list. If you want you could run the legion without any of the other named heroes and just make it a pure ranger list, but that in y opinion just removes the fun and cool narrative set-piece this creates.
• This legendary legion is best played in larger games because if you want to maximize your killing potential you have to take as many named heroes as you can, then fill out the list with Rangers of the North
