The floor is lava

A Traditional Game which requires no character generation, dice, or new editions. Basically, the floor is declared to be some substance of dangerous quality, notably lava. Usually pillows are considered safe, as are furniture cushions. It becomes much easier when you're tall enough to need not jump between pieces of furniture. For bonus points you should try one of more of the following:

• Play while drunk
• Play at school / work
• Don't tell anyone you're playing, or if asked respond only with "THe FLooR iS LaVa!"
• Play at the site of an active volcano

Rules commonly used on /tg/ when playing:

1) the floor is not made of lava until 10 seconds after you have read the rules (gives time to find something to sit/stand on)

2) chairs are bear traps

3) girls are traps

4) beds are burning

5) blue is poison

6) you are immortal if you listen to My Chemical Rommance's Welcome To The Black Parade

7) all books are F.A.T.A.L. (which means they die in a fire, throw them on the floor)

8) other humans only temporarily protect you from the lava

And remember, as with any rule in any good game: the rules are guidelines, not absolute. And if in doubt, roll a d20. Just don't step on it later.
