The Grand County of Wissenland is the southern most province in The Empire and... that's about it. There isn't much information on Wissenland outside of general regional information, the inhabitants and the annexation of Solland. This is probably because the most important city in Wissenland, Nuln, is a self governing city-state and most of its fluff and affairs are completely separate and self contained to the rest of the province (and because GW are lazy fucks who don't like fleshing out minor provinces).
The western part of Wissenland is nestled in the foothills of the Grey mountains, an area rich in minerals and geological rescores so the the area is doted with dozens of mines and quarries which fuel huge swaths of the Empire, and especially Nuln with the Iron and chemicals to build cannons, gunpowder and everything else that's required to level the playing field against the nasties that inhabit the Warhammer World. In addition to this Wissenland is one of the main trade routes between the Empire and other countries such as Bretonnia and Tilea, with mointain passes and a fucking subterranean canal that leads directly to Tilea (aka Kreutzhofen) which can operate year round when the mountain passes have snowed over. Obviously this means that Wissenlands industrial and trade base is pretty big, even ignoring Nuln, and many cities around the province have decent manufacturing capabilities with a lot of it being dedicated to the creation and importation/deportation of luxury goods such as clothing and jewellery. Wissenland has some decent farmland in the east of the province where grain and dyes can be grown, though the land towards the mountains become dryer and less farmable. Speaking of the mountains when the thaw comes in spring the rivers that run down into the province can cause flooding with the sudden increase of melt water which can be cause a right ball ache for the townsfolk that live near the mountains.
After the destruction of Solland by Gorbad Ironclaw, Wissenland absorbed the lands of Solland, as well as the former-provinces agriculture to their own economy allowing Wissenland to have a respectable livestock, vineyards and trapping centres, further boosting Wissenlands ability to produce luxury goods and clothing. Though this increased economic base came at the cost of their neighbour province and Wissenland is still very sorrowful and riddled with some weird mix of survivors and catholic guilt over Sollands destruction. In order to help honour the lost province, Wissenland added the Solland sun to their provinces banner, similar to Averlands heraldry change. The land that was occupied by Solland is now known as "Old Solland" or "Sudenland".
