What is the point ?[edit | edit source]

My attempt here is to create a homebrewed CCG game. The purpose is to allow /tg/ to perfect this game to its fullest so we can enjoy a low-cost game together.

What is this about[edit | edit source]

In a not-so-far future, humanity struggles for survival while corporation struggle for control of the solar system and its mineral resources, as well as the rare alien artefacts found here and there. More Fluff to come when more crunch is done

The battles are squirmishes of small mecanised forces composed of heavy tanks and mechas. Like Mordheim / Necromunda, it is to be played both as balanced occasional combats and long standing campaigns where the opponents have to battle for the spoils of war.

Raw Ideas[edit | edit source]

This section is my first raw post on /tg/ and is to last until I have a clear point of view of the whole thing. Basicly :

My idea for this game is the following :

  • it's a game about mechanised warfare, with big tanks and mechas
  • each vehicle has a pilot
  • each pilot and vehicle has a tactical rating, from one to five stars. The players agree on the tactical rating of the game.
  • while there is a pilot bank, most of them generic soldiers, each vehicle would be allowed to be unique, letting the player customise his/her mecha using an online flash generator
  • aside from this, the players build a manoeuvres deck. (for instance : move, charge, camouflage, ranged attack, decoy, and so on)
  • there is a third deck : the terrain deck. These decks are pre built and represent the war zone
  • You can play any number of maneuvres from your hand. They all represent what a pilot is doing this turn. You can't play more than a maneuvre card by turn and by pilot.
  • Some of them, when played, grant you to pick terrain maneuvres from the terrain deck (for instance : strong wind, terrain slide, cover)
  • Some maoneuvres can be used only if the pilot or vehicle has certain particular skills or equipement
  • there are five rows on the table, each player sets his/her cards on the closest one.
  • each vehicle can cross any row, provided no ennemy controls it.
  • You can only enter a row occupied by an ennemy with a maneuvre card allowing ramming / charging or stealth move
  • a difference of one row is a short range, two rows is a moderate range and three rows is a long range. This affects shooting
  • I think some characters will have leaderships abilities, some others psychic powers, thus allowing the use of associated maneuvres

Preparing cards[edit | edit source]

There are four kinds of cards :

  • Vehicles
  • Pilots
  • Standard Maneuvres
  • Terrain Maneuvres

Each player composes a battle force composed of several vehicles, each of course drived by a selected pilot. Each pilot and vehicle is rated, so the total rating of the two battle forces is equal.

Then they copose a deck of 40 Standard Maneuvres. The two opponents decide of the terrain where they are going to fight and make the Terrain Maneuvres deck accordingly.

Vehicle[edit | edit source]

the vehicles are to be created via an online flash interface, allowing each player to pick the option he wishes on each vehicle, the software automaticly calculating its sepcificties.

Vehicle rating[edit | edit source]

The power of a vehicle is rated from one to five stars.

Vehicle statistics[edit | edit source]

  • Speed : maximum number of rows (this will be explained further) the vehicle can cross in one round.
  • Handiness : affects the maneuvres the vehicle's pilot can attempt.
  • Armor : minimum damage the vehicle must sustain before being damaged.
  • Hit points : number of damages the vehicle can sustain.
  • Weight : stability, damages in close quaters combat

Weapon statistics[edit | edit source]

  • Type
    • Single action
    • Automatic
    • Spread
    • Blast
  • Range
    • CQC : attacks on the same row
    • Short : attacks one row far
    • Middle : attacks two rows far
    • Long : attacks three rows far

Pilots[edit | edit source]

A list of famous pilots will be created, as well as nameless drones to back them up. The famous pilots will be picked among the users suggestions and balanced accordingly.

Pilot rating[edit | edit source]

The power of a vehicle is rated from one to five stars.

Pilot statistics[edit | edit source]

  • Dexterity
  • Leadership

A certain number of weapons can be fitted on each vehicles

Playing[edit | edit source]

Battlefield[edit | edit source]

Maneuvres[edit | edit source]

Card list[edit | edit source]

Standard Maneuvres[edit | edit source]

The cards are always applied to a pilot and the vehicle he/she pilots.

  • (g) means the maneuvre can only be attempted by a standard ground vehicle.
  • (f) means the maneuvre can only be attempted by a flying vehicle.
  • (w) means the maneuvre can only be attempted by a walking vehicle.
  • (a) means the maneuvre can be discarded to perform a +0 attack action.
  • (m) means the maneuvre can be discarded to perform a one row move action.
  • (l) means the maneuvre can be discarded to allow a pilot to give an extra action to another with a lower leadership value. It cannot be used to make a pilot make a third action in his/her turn.
  • (r) means the maneuvre can be discarded to repair one damage on the vehicle
  • (t) means the maneuvre gives a terrain card to the player who used it.
  • attack (a)
  • charge (a/m)
  • tackle (w)(a)
  • total assault
