The Jabberwock is a monster that appeared in the poem "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Caroll, author of Alice in Wonderland. It is a fearsome beast that was slain with the Vorpal Sword, and that's all we really know about it.

In Dungeons & Dragons, the Jabberwock appeared in AD&D as a monstrous dragon-like fey creature, debuting in Dragon Magazine #54 for 1st edition, then being updated to 2nd edition in the Monstrous Compendium Appendix Annual Volume 3. It vanished for years after this, but made a comeback in 5e's The Wild Beyond the Witchlight.

In Pathfinder, the Jabberwock is somewhere between a fey elder dragon and an Archfey.

In Warhammer Fantasy, Jabberwocks are monsters associated with the forces of Chaos. They were retconned into being called Jabberslythes in 6th edition, which is weird since jabberwock is public domain.
