Noxious Blightbringer
The Noxious Blightbringer (God that name just sounds pretentious) is a dark reflection of the noble Legion banner bearers of old, who carries a cursed plague bell that tolls with the death knell of his victims. Like the giant bells from the atrocious looking Nurgle Plague Tower, the plague bell as upholded by the Noxious Blightbringer reigns in psychological dread from the weak minded and boosts morale from the forces of the Plague Father. The Noxious Blightbringer is also armed with a pretty sweet looking Plasma Pistol, but nobody cares for that.
Every Plague Company counts Noxious Blightbringers amongst its ranks, but they are especially prevalent in the vectoriums of the 3rd. Such warbands as the Putrid Choir or the Dolorous Gnaw rarely take to the battlefield without two or three Noxious Blightbringers to herald them into battle, while Lord Gothax always has seven Blightbringers accompanying him.
The Blightbringer comes equipped with the iconic cursed plague bell (now known as a Tocsin of Misery), a plasma pistol which can be supercharged and some blight and krak grenades, and a spikey bell in his hands that he uses to bash people with. The Fluff surrounding the Tocsins of Misery states that they are capable of generating sonic waves that bring pain and disorientation to the enemy, but if that was the case, it would have made sense to turn this into a ranged weapon with the sonic prefix, along with a leadership debuff factory. The Dark Imperium novel supports this by portraying the bell's effects as forcing all loyalists who can hear it suffer immediate crippling depression, requiring a librarian to shield their captain from it, so he can duel the Blightbringer while the rest of the force is incapacitated by the knell.
Of course each Death Guard army is equipped with the disgustingly resilient rule which makes them a particularly pain in the ass to remove and destroy. In the Blightbringer's case, it has a special rule called Tocsin of Misery which is the ultimate Troll ability to fuck with enemy leadership. Any enemy within 7" of the Blightbringer must subtract 1 from their leadership (Psykers must subtract 2), meaning its not-so-good news for more choppy-aligned armies especially when said ability will buff any nearby friendly Death Guard unit. Seriously any friendlies within 7" of the Blightbringer can roll two dices when advancing, discarding the lowest result when determining how far the unit advances. Never has the word Bullshit been more apt.
