This page details people, events, and organisations from the /tg/ Heresy, a fan re-working of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. See the /tg/ Heresy Timeline and Galaxy pages for more information on the Alternate Universe. During the Imperial Reformation, the surviving Loyalist Primarchs agreed to break up the great Space Marine Legions into small elite formations, ensuring that no one man would ever possess the power that Hektor Cincinnatus had so abused. The new Space Marine Chapters would support, rather than command, the Imperial Guard in the wars of the new Imperium.

Each Legion was divided up into a number of Chapters, with the first Chapter retaining the name and colours of the mother Legion. In theory, the new Chapters were governed by the Institutorum Astartes, a great work of military ethics and practice laid down by the Primarch Gaspard Lumey. However, even at the dawn of the new era, many Chapters paid only lip service to the Institutorum. As with the Space Marine Legions that preceded them, the superhuman soldiers of the Space Marine Chapters were supplied by the tech priests of Mars.
