The Formosians are a xenos species that was annexed to the T'au Empire in 896.M40, during its Second Sphere Expansion.
Their absorption was part of an effort by the T'au Water Caste to recruit alien worlds for the Greater Good, led by their greatest envoy, Por'O Dal'yth Kais Twi Lui'tan of the Dal'yth Sept, better known as "the Golden Ambassador".
