* Joint Tau/Otroki System
* [[Otroki/Tau System]]

===Planet 1===
Molten world that's too close to the star(s) to support life, lots of molten metals/resources. Tau use drones to mine, yet the rate of drone failure is exceptionally high.

===Planet 2===

===Planet 3===
Barren world. It used to be a thriving human colony in the distant past, yet some industrial accident made a large chunk of the planet an irradiated wasteland, lots of natural resources. The Tau colony ship crash landed here. The majority of the Tau population in the Sector live here, typically in underground cities or in mining crawlers.

===Planet 4===
Desert world with large promethium reserves, a buried CSM cruiser and little else.

===Planet 5===
Agri-world with a series of large continents. Tau have established large automated farms which allow a lot of food to be grown with little actual Tau presence on the world. Single moon has a defence installation with anti-orbital weapons and houses the majority of the actual Tau near the world.

===Small Asteroid Field===
Small asteroid field and ship graveyard. The asteroids are filled with Tau drones and automated defences, which decimate the periodic Otroki fleets sent to penetrate them. However each fleet manages to destroy several small asteroids, weakening the defence network bit by bit.

===Planet 6===
Otroki settler world. Sub-tropical like their homeworld, the majority of the Otroki population in the Oestalan Sector is housed here. Orbital defence installations and shipyards ring the planet and it's two moons.

===Planet 7===
Otroki controlled former human colony, pretty much a feral/feudal world now. The Otroki draw upon the humans for slave labor.

===Planet 8===
Dead world, it's got strategic value and possibly canyons with a thin atmosphere other than that people have to bring their own

Oestalan Sector is the combination of efforts of fa/tg/uys to create another homebrew sector of the Warhammer 40k universe to go alongside the Tiji Sector. At the moment there is only one system.

Oestalan Sector

For over a thousand years the most western fringe of the Imperium has been barred to travel. Cloaked by a violent warp storm, it has long since fallen out of step with the broader Imperial institutions. But the Warp Storms have receeded, and the Sector is revealed to the Galaxy again. They find it to be different place, a wild dangerous land. A Crusade has been launched into the sector to reclaim it for the Throne, to bring the human worlds back into the fold, and to eliminate the xenos and heretics that inhabit it. Banners are gathered, ships are launched, the preachers beat the war drum. It will not be easy, but the Osetalan Crusade has begun!

Known Systems Of The Oestalan Sector

The old sector capital, Oestala, is an unusual system. Oestala III and IV were both habitable, heavily populated worlds, and Oestala V's mineral wealth led to its colonisation for industrial purposes. This concentration of wealth and population in one system allowed it to maintain an organized government after the arrival of the warp storms. The ruling Sector aristocracy placated their large populations with the hope that the warp storms were only temporary, yet as year after year passed the limited resources on both Oestala III and IV began to grow increasingly strained. Eventually relations between the two hive worlds grew increasingly frosty. Eventually, Oestala III declared independence and sent a make-shift invasion force to take Oestala IV and V, Oestala IV responded by launching an orbital nuclear barrage against their former partner world - an action which Oestala III followed. Both are now dead worlds, with nothing but an irradiated wasteland left.

However, some of the old aristocracy managed to flee to Oestala V before the nukes arrived - so now you have super noble families stuck with the miners and proles. Shanty palaces were built so that the old sector aristocracy could relive the 'good ol' days' and throw elaborate parties. This lasted two generations, before the aristocracy were strung up by miners and factory workers. Whatever ambitions for a better life the commoners of Oestala V had, they've been buried under an Ork invasion. Now most live day to day, fighting what seems to be a never ending war against the Orkish tide. Every year the human survivors lose another habbloc, or manufactorum - weakening their ability to fight back bit by bit.

Factions within the Oestalan Sector

The Imperium of Man

Dark Eldar

Ork Warbands

  • The Green Traverse Warbands - Operating exclusively in the Medigeminus System. Fights with the armies of the planet Sigma-Noblesse for their shiny weapons, armor and knicknacks

Rogue/Indepdendent Mechanicus Empire

"Through the blessings of the Omnissiah, we have tamed the very stars themselves. Through our understanding of the Omnissiah, we have survived the long death of the Imperium of Man. Through the Empty Years, we grew stronger as others rusted away before the oblivion of time and entropy.

You say our belief-engrams are damaged? No, brother. It is simply that your dogma is out of date."

-Archmagos Hexapan-Seq-88A, First Contact with the Redemptor Mechanicus

  • Still under discussion

Tau Empire

The Otraki Dominion

  • Avian/Raptor Xenos from a multi-system empire somewhere in the Halo Stars. In their first ever movement beyond the Halo Stars, they have expanded opportunistically into the Oestalan Sector. Their Dominion is comprised of several minor Xenos races and even two human feudal worlds, one of which is in the Oestalan Sector. As a result of these mighty conquests, the Otraki view themselves as the largest superpower in the Galaxy. Eager to face the Tau and gain their superior tech, and ready to stare down the full might of the Crusade, the Otraki Dominion is prepared to send its slave-legions to battle.

Eldar Craftworld

  • Has lots of fire dragons and a fire dragon hero who killed lots of tau. They are allied with human pirates, and are enemies of the forces of Chaos in this sector
