The Dark Krakens are a Loyalist Space Marine chapter created from the Salamanders Geneseed. Formed during the Ultima Founding, the Dark Krakens are comprised entirely of Primaris Marines. Their homeworld of Naktis is an oceanic night world with only one landmass capable of supporting a fortress monastery. This landmass is surrounded by vast oceans full of bioluminescent megafauna and predators that the natives hunt for food and for sport. Following this Monster Hunter doctrine, Dark Krakens seek out the greatest foes on the battlefield (either in physical size or numbers) and attempt to win the glory of the kill.
