Belsameth is the evil goddess in Scarn. She's the daughter of Mesos and Mormo, twin sister to Madriel, and mother to Erias and Sethris.
History[edit | edit source]
Belsameth, like all the other gods, took part in the Divine War against the titans, her notable contributions being the erasure of all memories, thoughts, and dreams related to the titaness Gulaben alongside his son Erias, and the tearing of the hearts of Kadum and Mormo.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Belsameth has two main forms that she takes. The first one is that of an alabaster skinned, black haired beautym with dark, beguiling eyes, while the other form is that of a hag with scaled skin and blood-dripping wings of a vulture. When the Nameless Moon is full, she assumes the form of gigantic werewolf, tall enough to uproot trees and toss house like they were children's toys.
Worshippers[edit | edit source]
Belsameth is mainly worshipped by evil spellcasters, assassins, and therianthropes of all kinds. She's mainly worshipped in the lands of New Venir and Albadia, where she's worshipped alongside her sister Madriel and the titaness Denev.
Cult of the Ancients[edit | edit source]
The Cult of the Ancients is the most widespread cult of the Slayer, being found in most major cities of Ghelspad. Originally a secret society for wealthy merchants to unify Ghelspad under their control named Order of the Ancients, in 85 AV a schism broke the group in two as Belsameth-worshipping assassins converted many members to her worship after they found a book called the Power of Death, which detailed numerous assassination and murder methods to honor the goddess. They see murder as a form of worship and see the "beautiful murder", meaning a ritualistic, art-like murder, as the ideal to reach for.
